I got some 24g Gplat to play with (along with some Cloud Chaser Inc 'Off Road' wire) to play with. However, I don't have a clue how to enter it into the coil calculator (Steam Turbine usually) I use. Does anyone know the dimensions for these wires, or can someone explain how to input them into a calculator? Is there a calculator out there that has either of these wires already in it?

I don't have a lot of it and I kinda hate to just throw 3-4 wraps on a 3/32 bit in order to find out the ballpark I'd be in. I sure like being able to plan my builds. I normally use 3/32 bits and prefer dual coils. I'm looking to try these wires at .2, .5, .8, 1 & 1.2 ohms.

I believe it's the SS 317L option in Steam Engine, instead of Kanthal, Nichrome, etc.

If you just google "gplat 317L" you can read all about it. Some people claim that's all gplat is, others (presumably people selling gplat) are claiming it's only "based on" 317L but highly modified.

But yeah, the SS 317L is what I'd use to calculate. Let us know how closely it matches up to the predicted resistance!

I know it's got an incredibly low resistance per unit length, so I'd be kind of surprised if you could build at 0.5 ohm dual coil without needing a huge build deck.

10-4. Thanks for the heads up on that SS 317L. I'll post results. Any clue about that Cloud Chasers Inc "Off Road" wire?? It's crazy looking. Yeah, I guess anything above a super sub-ohm build will be difficult; especially with the decks I have. I'll probably just do a little clouds chasing to annoy my wife. LMAO! She is so sheltered. Lol! She calls cloud chasing, "....ing" (pronounced ....-g-ing) and says it reminds her of Cheech & Chong! ROFL. She vapes as well but the hits she takes wouldn't qualify as a cloud for an immature field mouse. :)

Well, it's not exactly SS 317L. Either that or Steam Engine is not correct; and I've always found it to be extremely reliable. So, I plugged in .2Ω as my target on 3/32 ID dual coil and it said I should use 9 wraps. Well, 9 wraps of 24g Gplat on a 3/32 drill bit will give you .1Ω on a dual coil setup. WHOA! Lol! My lowest build to date.

I'll tell you what, though, the cloud was (for me) STUPENDOUS! It kinda freaked me out, how big it was. And the flavor was bangin'! It's a thirsty beast and there's no way I could afford the amount of juice it would take to vape that all day, every day. But for an occasional bit of cloud chasing, or as a conversation starter at some totally inappropriate locale, it really fits the bill. Lol!

I wish that Evolve had done the Temperature Control using Gplat instead of Ni200, because it's sure a lot easier and more fun to build with than that annoying nickel wire! Maybe one of these days.

This is a 16/15 of 24g gplat, 3mm Id ohms out at .7 on my SIG. I can put 590 watts on her no prob but she does crackle at first and when cold. Insane flavor and great clouds with higher vg. The best thing about the wire for me is the topper does not get stove hot and the coil does not gunk as quickly and is easier to clean. Here is a pic of this caterpillar on my Mephisto.
