Ok, so the battery is approximately 1 month old. I got it in a starter kit. Joye brand, 600 mah. It was working fine, then the button starts flashing. Not a long stent of flashing like it needs to be charged, and having charged it only a few hours earlier in the day, I know it was not dead... It will not fire up anything (cartos, atty/tank, clearo, nothing at all). Pretty sure the battery is dead, but it seems very short lived. With the holiday looming, nothing else will even ship until Tuesday, but for future notice...what may have happened to my battery? (oh, and yes, I am sure it was on...I could click it enough times to turn it off then back on and made sure I checked that)

Thanks in advance.

This has happened to both of my original eGo batteries (1000 mAh Joye brand) as a result of a shorted coil in a cartomizer. I was using CE3 "Smokymizers" and fried the mosfets in the batteries. I disassembled them to verify, the battery registered full voltage on a multimeter and the circuit board was visibly burnt. I will not be using the CE3s anymore needless to say. Also, the battery will flash 3 times to signal a short/overload, but when this happens it is already hot, so another press of the button will likely fry it. Anything less than 2 ohms is considered too low for an eGo.

PS I'm from Hanceville, what part of Bama are you from?

The resurrectors at 1.7 ohms sounds like the problem. The ego is a regulated battery and using anything less than 2.0 ohms can short circuit the mosfet. That's the flashing that you see. I got some 900 mah egos with the LED readout and they won't work with the resurrectors. The button just flashes a bunch of times. I have to use 2.0 ohms or better with the egos. My Kgos handle the resurrectors with no problem as they are unregulated.

Holy Cow. I fried another one!!! That's 2 in 24 hours. I'm not hard on my stuff either. I work at home, don't drop them, etc. We have just gotten some of the new clearomizers (I think they are called Stardust) or something like that. I only got to try it a few times before both of my batteries went caput. No mail on Monday either, so it will be Tuesday before I can even get anything shipped. This is very disheartening. In the meanwhile I will try to make due with my Mistic (gas station brand) that I started with. So many people had recommended the ressurectors, that's why I got them. Ugh!

Oh, and Brandon, I'm from Good Hope. Small world.

Oh, and no flashing really occurs if it's not connected to anything. It will flash for the off/on feature, but otherwise it has to be connected to the cartos or clearos to flash like it's been doing. Guess I am going to have to get Rivas or Kgos or something. Will they charge on my ego charger, or do I need to get a charger specifically for them?

I think we figured out it was a clearomizer that was doing the damage. My husband took it apart, as he had done another one that had stopped working, but had performed well, and said the coil was wrapped differently in the one that seemed to be frying the batteries. Tis a sad and expensive thing, but at least we know what was probably doing it. I have new batts on order now, so fingers crossed that we have no more issues like that. New vaper lesson learned though. Pretty sure it's not the charger as I had been charging my batts on my charger and my husband was using his charger and 2 of mine and 1 of his are the ones that fried. One had a definite burned smell, and he took it apart as well and the electrical chip (mosfet?) was visibly burned. Many thanks to the help from everyone though! Found a local vendor for juices through all of this as well. ECF is the BEST!!!
