Looks like you like box mods Ian! I have a couple box mods: mini Reo and a Reo Woodvile. Just refilled the mini with Black Clove. Yeppers!! I do have my eye on a Vapor Flask (40) but luckily I'll get more research time as they are out of stock. I agree with your love of Kayfuns.

my trigger finger is getting itchy on the vaporshark dna40.so glad they're behind schedule at the moment...

i saw that on the blog of the great unmentionable the other day. i'm not sure what market they are shooting for with it ? i guess maybe the mech/dna/ipv crowd ? or maybe they've got something in the works.most of the regulated devices (i.e. most carto/tank users)won't fire down that low.

sure seems like an efficient way to piss a lot of their uninformed customers off - i can see the streams of newbie threads coming now.... "my b&m sold me this atlantis -why is my battery flashing/smoking/shutting off ?"

That Atlantis flat out holds no interest for me. 2ml amd 0.5 ohm dual coil? Some engineer fell asleep at the wheel on that one.
Kanger already has it's own take on the way, ferget the name at the moment but it uses a 0.5ohm coil or a small RBA unit, your choice.

I was all excited about the prospects of the DNA40 at first but having followed the threads here on ECF, redditt and other forums, I see what ya mean gutter, almost puke as I type, I'm glad I'm broke!

The early adopters are sure doing the work for Evolv's Usability and Reliability Study though!
Same goes fer the top device makers too!

Hana - no adjustable positive pin, overall fit and finish bite.
Protovapor - soldered wiring harness for the battery, unsecured charging port
Vapor Flask - spotty finish, skewed screens, restrictive battery tubes,
Vapor Shark - air channels cut so liquid can seep directly into the electronics section, availability of the unit.

Based on the rdna20 and 30 reviews the Vapor Shark seems to be the most promising but it will still be shipping with what appears to be a wildly erratic chip.

For the money being asked for the units I'm of a mind they should be perfection. Not there yet but I have hopes.

Thanks for summarizing OTD. Been a bit busy to follow lately. Am always interested when a US company comes out with something new. I've been spoiled by Provari, Reo, and Super T's quality right out the gate. Seems like the above are still in their beta phase and should be called as such. Hope the bugs get worked out quickly for the employees and vapors' sake.

Agreed. Which is why I'm going to be building my own. I figure I can make it at least as professional as any of those four, but that's not setting a very high bar; I will be disappointed if I don't do better.

Course, first I have to find someplace shipping the DNA 40 board. (It's a board, folks, not a chip, even though for some reason that's what most people seem to call to it. I'm guessing Evolv may have a custom or semi-custom chip or two on there, and/or a uP, I expect that'll be pretty apparent when I get a board in my hot grubby paws to look at, but in any case, what they're currently selling is a board.)

Anyone know anywhere shipping them? Some places had them but are now out; I'm guessing that's because Evolv delayed shipping while they worked out a couple bugs. So I guess it's good they're out; it makes it easier to avoid getting a board from "old stock."

LOL, busted!
I do freely admit to a vast level of ignorance though (-;
