There have been dozens upon dozens of attempts by so many to obtain that really true tobacco flavor in a vape. For me I've tried a lot of the fruits and sweets and candies and pastries, etc., but I always end up coming back to the tobacco flavors. Happy Vapers with their Flavourarts, Seedmans, Loranns and others trying just like everyone else to get just the right flavor with little real success.

I just happened upon an older thread about using the Camel snus to extract the flavor using PG and other liquids so I figured I'd give it a try so here's what I did:

I purchased a tin of Camel SNUS mellow for $3.28 and it contained 12 pouches. I put 15ml of PG, 10ml of VG and 5ml of water into a shot glass along with 3 snus pouches. A covered this with a double layer of plastic wrap held tight with elastic and trimmed around the edge. I placed this into a small pan with about 3/4" of water on the stove and simmered this for 15 minutes, turned it off and let it cool slowly in place.

I then let this sit, still covered tightly for a full 24 hours agitating it whenever I checked it so that it would mix thoroughly. This morning it had the color of cola, maybe slightly darker. I took off the wrap and gave it one last good stir. I then squeezed out each of the 3 pouches between thumb and forefinger and watched a few dark drops come out. Another good stir and I then put 2ml of this into an empty 5ml drop container. It is a little on the thick side but not as much as you may think, so I thought I would just start vaping this as is with an empty cart, just dripping with my 510.

I've been vaping this for almost 2 hours now and I have to say that this really tastes good. It is a bit too sweet for my liking which would probably be better if I didn't use any VG in my mix. It has a very mild and distinct tobacco taste and smell upon exhale, very light. I think the best way to describe the taste would be "smooth". I'm going to continue to try this off and on between other flavors throughout the day. I think I may also thin out the mix with a little vodka and fill a cart and see how it wicks, vapes and tastes that way.

No one has really raved about this procedure before but at least for now this really gives me probably the best tobacco taste I've been looking for, smooth, mellow and a tad sweet. I don't feel a rush of nicotine at all and the throat hit is quite mild too (which I also like). No two people like their flavors/hits the same, but for me this works - so far so good. As you all know there is no way to know how much nicotine I'm getting from this, I don't think there's much at all, but this does concern me a bit.

I'll continue to experiment with this and post an update every day or two and let you know how it goes. And another thing is that I keep looking hard at this nice-looking Camel snus tin and I think I see a nice mod in its future!

I looks like you spent .84 on the snus and glycol is so cheap you can't even figure this but lets say 1.00. You ended up with 30 ml of liquid which would mean it cost you about l.84 for 30ml. If this works then this is the cheapest nicotine you could make. Only things is to figure out what mg. of nicotine this is.

To be honest, I'm doing this trying to find a nice tobacco flavor. I'm not concerned with the amount of nicotine unless it is too high and then I would worry about overdosing with it. It's very easy to purchase nicotine in high strength and simply add it to my mix if I need to up the nicotine level of any of my homemade e-juice. I'm only doing this for the flavor, not the nicotine. I normally only vape between 10 and 18mg strength anyway.

As far as price, this is really inexpensive and if I can perfect this to get the right flavor (I'm not far off it now) it would be cheaper than any other e-juice I could purchase.

i have just ordered my first ecig and i am still waiting for it to come in, can anyone tell me what is a good nicotine strength to go with if i smoked approx. 1 pack of cigarettes a day. I also dip through out the day as well so i am taking in a lot i think?

I think if the snus is to sweet you may want to try some dip(grizzly, Copenhagen, skoal) it may have a less sweet taste and will probably be a stronger nicotine hit, since snus is made so you can swallow the juices that it produces. def not the case with dip (for most people) plus dip has a wide variety of flavors. may have to try myself if i ever get my order in

I was just over a pack a day when I started vaping and I first found the 18 to 14mg strength about right for me. I have cut down a bit a times but 18 satisfies me well.

I just might take your suggestion with the dip as I agree it may work better. A little more experimenting never hurts.
