what i like about ecigs, the real benifits

when i'm working and suddenly need a cig, i can just grab my ecig, take a a puff or two and continue, with a real cigarette i have to take 7 minutes to smoke it and usually forget where i was i my work..

when i am on the phone and need a cigarette i can just pick up my ecig, push the button and get my fix, not fumble trying to light a cig while holding the phone..

i can have 5 flavors of ecig available, not just Camel Full Flavor Filter..

my apartment is less smoke-bound..

no problem with getting rid of that smoking cigarette ......

no problem with waking up at three AM and needing a cig that i don't have

no more tipping a big full ashtray of butts onto the carpet

i can adjust the nicotine strength

no more getting a sore thumb trying to get the cigarette lighter to light

-----------------------------

on the other hand, the hype/lies/myths of using ecigs

a cartridge is equivilent to a pack of cigarettes or more ( more like 4 carts to a pack for $8 ) -- the great lie, the one that got most of us started on ecigs to begin with in this age of insanely high cigarette prices

to be continued:

if we can add to this :)

• No one knows what you were just doing when you sit down next to them.
• No more smoking in the rain and cold.
• No more comments about how I am killing myself (I am already getting nostalgic about those comments)
• No more running late because I need to drive 5 extra minutes to buy from my "cheapest place in the area" gas station.
• No more questions about when I am going to quit.
• No more guilt about throwing butts out my car window.
• No more stinky car.
• No more hiding cigarettes in my car from people I didn't want to know I smoke(d).
• No more anxiety about running out of cigarettes (to be replaced with ensuring I'm charged tho).
... and the list goes on

I don't have any cons that I can't get over. My biggest beef is batteries. But I am considering getting tethered via a power supply doohickey and/or getting a beefier device.

E-cigs saved my quit! I was trying to quit with nicorette gum, but mornings were a killer! My daughter and her BF live with me and every day I would eye their smokes as I passed them on the patio when I left the house for work. Now I puff on my e-cig, and they are jealous! No more cough, no more stinky clothes and hair, and I just bought a nice smoke free brand new car.

I am learning more and more each day on the subject thanks to ECF. This forum is the greatest!

1: Cheaper than normal cigarettes by far!
2: No more stinkbreath. My girlfriend actually enjoys kissing me now!
3: No more hacking up a liter of lungbutter every few hours
4: I can satisfy my sweet tooth with a vape!
5: I'm a geek, and love my tech toys.
6: I love that I can now vape in my home guilt free. I always had to go outside before. No more standing in -10 degree weather braving horizontal sleet just to get my nicfix!
7: Best of all, I think, and my girlfriend agrees, no painful death due to lung cancer! I'm breathing easier, less stressed, etc It's awesome.

All of this far outweighs the cons of owning an e-cig. Yeah, batteries are always an issue, but I'm never without electricity so I don't have to worry about suddenly having no battery power, I'm investing in a passthrough soon as well, since I spend 16 hours a day in front of a computer. Problem solved!
