B&m shops could definitely be handy if I somehow had a sudden large PV emergency. However, I prefer shopping online and loooove my supplier (and her free shipping:wub: ), so I doubt I'd use one regularly. I also think a nearby shop with a bunch of PV stuff there on hand would be dangerous to my budget, whereas online keeps my impulse buys to a minimum (most of the time, anyway  ).

A few NC vapors are about to create an on site storefront in Raleigh NC.
We believe exactly as you do, that eye to eye, hand shake and chatter are how good business is done. We have secured the space and the management of the location have approved it only after they read an article in a local NC newspaper, We expect to be open for business by end of July. We will keep you all posted has to the reaction and the flow of business. Until now, the entire ecig world has either been online or in kiosks, that have been run by a certain ecig company that has not been completely upfront w/ their customer base, we plan on changing that very soon

wish us all great success

The edit is regarding the kiosks companies, I was NOT suggesting that any online companies are anything but upfront and totally honest

Good luck to you guys. It may be tough at first, but just like star bucks, when they opened up around here, all said, "I aint paying 5 dollars for a cup of coffee".. But they did manage to get a group of loyal folks that enjoyed high end coffee products, after awhile the farmers around here started going, now a few years later buisness is booming. Now they have guys from all walks of life, from farmers, to hippies, to yuppies, collage kids, working class, you name it. Just took awhile to catch on..

I think many of the posts in this thread provide a clue as to the difficulty a local B&M store would have. Most people would use it as an "emergency" source of supplies as opposed to their regular source.

Also, I just purchased 630ml of juice for $123 shipped. I would find it hard to imagine that any local shop would be able to come close to that price.

If you wanted to serve beer at the vape bar then that would be a whole new ball game. Liqour license, zoning laws, etc. Plus then people would have to be 21 to enter instead of 18 to buy e-liquid and supplies.

Yeah, I guess we could do this without having a different license, right? couldn't a bar owner just start selling these things? Since his clients are all old enough to buy nicotine? worth looking into. A buddy of mine is looking into purchasing a bar (he's a brewer), maybe he can research this too.

While I do think you are right about the already spoiled customers (us), I think they would get lots of new users. Maybe they could spoil them. Also a lot of us don't buy from China, so we don't get the discounts you do.

That's the advantage right there. First time buyers. Gotta be some 30-40 million smokers in the u.s alone that never heard of these and then there are plenty of procrastinaters.

A bar owner connected to inlife got me interested in these......and yes no reason he couldn't sell these...(at the moment)

Love that name, TDM!!!

Regarding the savings of buying things online vs having the B&M - there is one part of the equation you're missing....Americans are, basically, into instant gratification.... If I have a choice of buying something online, waiting a week for shipping, paying by CC or paypal, etc.... and

Walking into a store, touching, feeling, trying, and buying on the spot... I'd take that convenience any day - AND pay more for the experience.

And the whole sample before you buy thing has appeal, too....rather than buy a bottle of juice, find I don't like it, and try to resell, much simpler to go to an establishment, buy a single cart for a buck or 2, and decide if I like it or not on that small taste...

Toss in the right to vape in a comfortable settng, be able to meet and socialize with others who share my interests..... I've given the vape bar a lot of thought... now we just need to get through the legal crap before I can make it a reality....or watch it go up in smoke.

What if????

I'd be the first one to open a brick-n-mortar dedicated to all things vaping...a vaper bar, where you could socialize, vape, try different models and juices.....

I can see it now: Vicks vapor bar

I've actually been thinking about trying to get my aunt and uncle who own a bar to try this out. Basically rent them out. have different flavors and just dispose of the carts when they are done.. buy from china cheap and sell a few drops for 50 cents. Right now though smokers are still allowed, so not sure if it would be worth the investment.
