Yep. That worked for Prohibition. LOL!

Really though, unless this hypothetical decree of tyranny were enacted overnight (an impossibility of course), there would be ample time to stock up supplies to last a very long time.

With every one else trying to do the same at the same time, I think there would be major shortages of supplies.

I have mechanical mods, rebuildable atomizers and enough nic in the freezer that I could ween off over a few years.

If evidence continues to grow that nicotine may protect against alzheimers, I'd probably take up gum or patch. No freaking way would I smoke again though.

I would become a criminal for health reasons and sneer at the law-makers who would prefer that I die from smoking.

Same here. Once my considerable stash runs out.
We all know how well Prohibition worked in the early 20th century. And where there is demand, there is supply :)

What are they gonna do? Throw us all in jail? The taxpayers will love that, I am sure..... ;)
Nothing like feeding, clothing and housing a lot of people at taxpayers expense, for the crime of consuming the legal substance of nicotine in the form of e-liquids instead of tobacco, gums, lozenges, inhalers (!) and what-have-you :sneaky:

So I'm thinking....

Pretty much all of us that are vaping are trashing analogs, and are saying how much better this is (myself included)

But what if vaping was suddenly outlawed... no more e-liquid, no more batteries, no more nothing....... zero.
It all ceased to exist...

Would we go back to analogs, or some other source of nicotine?

nicorettes, patch, etc

Opinions?

I'd be an outlaw...vaping bathtub, black market joose:)

IIRC, US law banned drinking somewhere arround the 1920's (or somewhere arround those years)? and people were still getting drunk. :)

Currently in my country (MX) ecigs are banned. It is not legal to import, sell, manufacture or market any kind of vaping equipment or e-liquid.
Yet im vaping like a champ :2cool:

History has tought us that when people really want something, the're gonna get it. And no goverment "ban" or "regulation" can prevent that.

I know, im missing the point of your original question. If for whatever reason vaping dint exsist, would i smoke again?
Nope, i dislike even the smell of cigs so much now, that i dont think i could smoke again, even if i wanted to.

I'd have to seriously consider becoming the Al Capone of e-cigs. I already live in Chicago so I may as well carry on the tradition. And batteries being banned? lol. We have to think of the flashlights! What about the flashlights?

Probably.

I've fallen off the wagon while vaping is still legal and growing. I enjoyed smoking. I enjoy vaping almost as much. I don't see myself McGyvering mods or trying to make my own juices. I already think dealing with tanks is a major PITA.

Fortunately the genie's out of the bottle. I don't think vaping is going away. It will be banned wherever smoking is. I've accepted that, and it will be taxed somehow. I'm still thinking it will always be at least half what cigarettes cost.

I'm genuinely curious, what could they possibly outlaw other than liquid nicotine? You can get b*ngs for tobacco, and even get m#th and crack pipes in smoke shops as "oil burners". The PG/VG are standard use in food stuffs, so they would be safe, and other than having to be a little more coy about selling flavorings, I can't really see this ever happening. Hell, even just 0mg juice couldn't be outlawed. I think the only future we really have to look forward to is a 2x increase in costs due to taxes and company expenses to stay in business. That sucks, no doubt about it, but I don't think we'll ever see prohibition in the US. I think the more likely danger will be the regulations like we just saw in the EU with 2ml tanks and 20mg nic, or something very similar.

I too don't think that we will see a ban. How can nicotine be banned as long as cigaretes and tobacco are legal? How can PG and VG be banned when they have so many other uses? Or batteries? Or--ahem--flashlights? Or food flavorings?

Taxes, yes. My own strategy is to stash away several mods, including at least one mechanical, just in case. I can always DIY, and learn to build coils.

I don't think this would ever happen. At least not an outright ban on everything. And I have enough juice (plus all my DIY supplies) and Mods and batteries to last quite a while. And when I ran out of flavors, I would just vape straight VG. But, given your scenario I would NOT go back to smoking cigs. Cannot picture myself doing that and I couldn't support BT.

Yep, in about 15 years when my stash runs out I guess I would have to. Otherwise, I've got it covered for awhile.

If there would be an outlaw people will build their own mods and make it fit batteries that exist for flashlights which are the 18650's and 26650's. People will buy VG / PG and flavors and vape on that as they are ingredients that are found in food so they will be easy to come by. For nicotine, people will probably steep tobacco in PG to extract the NIC out, it can be done with VG as well. VAPING will live on...

This.

When the law-abiding start disobeying some laws in particular, then it's time to change said laws.

Once, I heard someone say: "Slavery was once legal. It ended when people found themselves unconfortable with it".

Laws should mirror the 'moral code', if you like, of the people for whom they're intended.

We have the right of self-preservation. Our lives, our health, should be more precious than the boat-loads of money the people who oppose us are losing. Because of the personal, informed and clever choice we made, as independent, thinking adults. The e-cig is a victim of it's own success.
