I like around 1.5 to 1.8 ohm coils. I use Protank 2 tanks and Kayfun like tanks on my Ecic. What I have found is it is best to use the feature on the Evic that lets you make a custom vaping profile on your computer and down load it to the Evic that starts the watts out high and them steps them down during your vape. I start out at 11 watts for about 1.5 seconds, then 9.5 watts for 1.5 seconds, then 8 watts for 2 seconds and then finish up at 7 watts. This heats up the coil really fast, lets the vape be very consistant throughout and does not give me a burnt taste. I just get a smooth, warm vape with lots of favor. I am not sure of the correct name for this feature, but it is explained in great detail in a post on the Evic part of the forum. You can have three profiles on the Evic at the same time.

I get the question, however it is a limiting way to approach vaping, especially on a vv/vw device such as the evic.

Various tanks/clearos/cartos/RBAs perform differently from one another at a given resistance.

Further, based on both flavor and PG/VG ratio, some ejuices do better at higher or lower power settings.

With a single-power device, such as an eGo (non vv) or mech mod, finding an ideal resistance for the coil is more relevant than with a vv/vw device.

As long as a given coil falls within the evic's ability to fire it correctly, resistance is relatively a minor issue.

I use a number of tanks on the evic - top coil, bottom coil, dual coils, at anything from 1.6 to 3.0 ohms with good results. I pick the ejuice delivery device based on the flavor that I am vaping, and use the evic's features to to adjust to the device.

The truth is that you can get the same performance from a 1.8 Ohm coil as a 2.5 Ohm coil on a VV/VW device like the eVic. It's all about finding the voltage or wattage setting that you feel works best for your own tastes. If you are in VW mode, you can find a power setting that you enjoy and once you find it and set it, the device will do its best to deliver the same experience from either either of those coils (I find 6 Watts to be a comfortable place to start with a single coil head) without you having to adjust for each coil. If you are in VV mode, you will have to raise the voltage for the 2.5 Ohm coil to get the same experience that you get from the 1.8 Ohm coil. With variable voltage/wattage, I find that it is always best to start off LOW and work your way up.
