Got this scndrl cline the other day,and it has been fine up until now, i cant find an answer on this, it doesnt, or didnt look like sparking, it was on the positive side, and my battery didnt vent, there was a small flash of fire and my battery was ever so slghtly warm. However my rda was partially burned/vaporized. Which signals electrical fire. Was this a simple battery short?? My button wasnt getting hot either... I will include pictures.
Now, my 510 pin on my tsunami rda is pretty dang close to the threads around it, i thought this may have something to do with it, even though it is technically adjustable the pin pushes back to its original position when pressure is applied. I will not be using my tsunami rda on my mech until i buy one that is truly adjustable. Thoughts anyone?? No damage to anything whatsoever on the tube or hybrid adapter. First picture is the burned metal on the air flow, second picture is how far my pin comes out, in case anyone was wondering.

Now I'm not some fusspot, but even I wouldn't use that RDA on a faux hybrid connection like that mod has. It may work fine initially, but after a while the top of your batteries can 'cave' from having the RDA screwed down on it multiple times, resulting in a short. I'd guess that is what happened here.

I'd be lobbing both the battery and the RDA if it was my gear. I'd also be fully stripping the mod too. Can't tell from the pics if you have a 22 or 24 Tsunami but I have read that the Scrndrl clones can be sketchy with 24mm RDA's, so perhaps replace with a 22mm RDA with a substantially longer centre pin. Btw, you want one that when it is tightened down it still protudes - a lot. Adjustable centre pins and this type of connection is not advisable. Neither is using rare earth magnets on the battery connections, which I see some people promoting online with this mod.

Good luck

My positive battery end hasnt caved in from pressure because it is only 3 days old. It may have been a short, but I know thats not what caused it. Also, it is a 24 mm, but I wanted to ask what is so bad about having magnets? the only magnet on the mod is the 2 opposing ones that act as a spring for the button pushing the battery, no magnets on the battery connections..

Just want to say others have posted many times that a battery is $5 or $6 but how much is your face worth? Like many said here that battery was stressed and although it is working fine if something (heaven forbid) should happen it would suck hearing I told you so while in the hospital. Hindsight is 20/20 but you can never be too safe.

Some of the clones have poor threading - resulting in 24mm RDA's not making connection to the battery. Some people have therefore recommended the use of small magnets to bridge the gap between the battery and the centre post. All I was saying was not to be tempted to do that if you felt there was an issue there.

Did you check your resistance before putting the RDA on the mod?

Yeah i was at .25 ohms and i have a 25 in the tube so im well wihin range there thats why im not really worried about the battery so much, id rather be safe then sorry and get a new one and just use the old one somewhere else
