What is 0mg e-liquid used for

I don't understand what 0 mg e-liquid is for. If a person chose to vap without nicotine couldn't they just use glycerin and flavoring? There must be a reason for it but I can't figure out what it is.

0 nicotine is for us who just like to vape.
And, yes, all I use is VG with a little vodka. It's so simple I can make it myself.

Some people, including me got off nicotine all together but still enjoy the vape---remember that addiction is just as string as nicotine---if it was not, then NRT's would do the job, but they simply do not work.

Yeah, I use it to cut my other stuff. Had some 16mg and some 11mg. Now I vap between 4 and 6mg. Sometimes I get crazy and still do 11mg.

One scenario. Say a person wants to gradually lower their nic intake. They buy RY4 at 36mg and RY4 at 0mg for cutting. RY4 is not an easy DIY. Some have come close but I don't think anyone has nailed it down. There are other flavors like that, that might not be as easy as, say, banana.

And then there are people new to e-smoking, like myself, who have no idea how to make their own flavors. Where, by the way, does one get flavorings? I mean, I've seen e-liquid sold all over the Internet, but no where have I come across tobacco-flavorings or essences. Can you recommend a good website?

Yes you can still mix your own stuff using various methods.. you can even cut other nic mg/ml down by adding other stuff.. but using the base with 0 nic- you don't affect flavors as much as glycerin and some other products do. Glycerin is sweet and if you use too much of it, it will clog attys and kill attys. 0 nic juice is not as heavy, so it will make your mix proportional. Adding acohol instead is fine but you will also have an affect on flavors you are using.

How is the commercially-sold "base" made, then, if not with glycerin and flavor essences? What's different about its composition that makes it lighter and less likely to clog or kill attys-- without altering the flavors as alchohol does?
