I was thinking of giving 100% VG a try, but I don't want to give it short shrift by doing it wrong. I have a ProVari (3-6v), but I like cartomizers, and I'm not sure it wouldn't be too thick.

I like VG better than PG for a number of reasons. People say VG mutes the flavor a little but I got a bottle of Bounty Hunter 95% VG and a bottle of the PG blend and the VG tastes much sweeter and just better all around. The PG version kinda sucks compared to it. VG also works better at high voltages than PG. PG does have more of a TH but can also cause sore throat. VG is much smoother and has tons more vapor.
I've used it in cartos with no problems. CE2, Boge, Horizontal coil and a few others. Just don't chain vape it and give it time to wick and you should be fine.
Other than that it's preference unless your one of the few that has reactions to one or the other. Some mixes I prefer with more VG and some with more PG. Unless it's a juice I've tried before and know what my preference would be I tend to stick with 50/50.

I run Bobas, 100VG, in boge 3ohms on my provari at 4.5v. never had a problem. I also run Gorilla juice, same.
In my experience with 100%VG in cartos is that it doesn't last that long before I have to toss it (due to burning). Gunks up the coil pretty fast and also, the wicking is slow in comparison to something like a 80/20 mix.
I find that 100 percent VG work well in atties especially for direct dripping. Dont have to drip as often. Also havent had any problems with my LR Boges. Need to be cleaned a little more often but not so much it isnt worth it.
Sometimes i vape 100% VG, sometimes 100% PG or mixed 50/50 depending on the type of flavor and my mood. Don't have much problem going full VG. Have to vape slow and steady with VG tho or you'll get the nasty burnt taste.
I vape nothing but VG (PG Free) juices in carto's on my Provari...no problems! It does depend where you buy your juices tho...and I also believe the darker the juice, the faster it gunks things up. It really suprises me when I see flavors look dark brown, or even blue, pink, etc.

100% vg is like 100% pg with less of a throat hit and vapour that sticks around until the next apolcalypse. That's about it. Worst aspect is finding tank systems that work with it because let's face it, dripping feel like a chore the 50th time you do it and it's not exactly hugely portable.
I use a CE2 with a cut or upside down inner seal as my tank setup. I do use 808 cartos on my volt, and it is an alright vape but it's not as good as a CE2. It does wick fine in my 808 cartos but they really suck for having to replace them once a week with severely moderate use seeing as I barely even use my volt. I've yet to find another tank type setup that actually wicks vg.
On a sidenote, boge cartos utterly suck to fill with vg because the wadding inside is denser and it takes half the night to fill one properly.
