In regards to cleaning a clearomizer, tank, etc? If so, it simply means to attatch your device to your battery, minus the e-liquid, activate the battery for 1-5 seconds at a time, until the coil stops smoking. This is to burn excess gunk off of the coil, to give you a cleaner, better tasting vape. There are tons of videos on youtube that will demonstrate the process.

A dry burn is when you hold down the fire button on your vaporizer without juice in the tank so that the juice in the wick will vaporize off and then you can clean the coil off. I've read, and do myself, blowing on the coil as well which can help the gunk that builds off burn.

Have to be careful and do in shorter bursts cause this can burn the wick, depends on the wick you use you will not want to dry burn such as cotton.

mountain rain has it right...you can clean your coils in this way...a proper dry burn burns off all the gunk on a coil and it's restored to near-new condition

dry burning is almost always referring to either a liquid wicking tank (like the vivi nova, the T3, the protank), a clearomizer (like ce2s or the "stardust"), or a plain old atomizer

if you are using polyfill cartomizers, do not attempt a dry burn ...all it will do is burn the polyfill

Thanks so much.. we clean our BCCs and clearomizers regularly and a local vendor suggested soaking the replacement heads in vodka. I should watch the videos because I'm not sure how to see if a coil is smoking.

It's really not too difficult. What is a BCC by the way?

To dry burn, just remove all juice and get anything out of the way of seeing the coil. Now, pulse the button for 1-2 seconds...you'll hear probably some crackling, then you'll see some smoke from the gunk burn off. After about 6-10 of these pulses the coil will turn orange. Once no more smoke is coming out the coil will look white again. Theres probably a small amount of ash. You can scrape that a little with a dental pick or you can let the coil cool off and then run it under some water.

also, the vodka soak might clean the wicks just fine but it isn't going to get rid of the gunk on the coil...learn how to dry burn ...you'll be glad you did
