I have a question...why buy a mechanical mod and then turn it in to a regulated mod by adding a Kick? I don't get it.

There are a few reasons. First, it depends on the juice delivery system. For mechanicals, I'll run the battery straight if I'm using something in the 0.5-1.2 ohm range. If, for whatever reason, I have to switch to a high-resistance atomizer, a Kick would come in handy for the output.

Secondly, some vapers love that there's more variety and better workmanship with mechanical mods. A well-made make will last for a long, long time. Pins and springs might have to be replaced, but if the workmanship is solid there's no reason a mech can last decades. When a digital mod's cicuitry dies, it becomes useless.
