Sup everyone, I should actually change my name to supernoob because i feel like im always asking nooby questions. Anywho, it seems like PVs are evolving and I can't seem to keep up. I just saw my friend with a crazy rebuildable tank and took a hit with it on his eVic and that thing was so clean. As Im looking through sites, I see a lot of different things and I can't really find anything on google or here to see what they actually are. So I have a question, what defines a rebuildable tank and what are the best? I see some for $15 and then I see some for like $150. Then what is a mod? Is that the same as a mechanical or is that something different? Also what is a hybrid? I was looking at them, I thought they can use the mesh and silica wicks, but they look more like the battery part. Any help in understanding this crazy thing is appreciated. Also, for those things mentioned, are there any great brands that are actually available? Is there any threads here where I can learn about these advanced PVs?

RBAs allow you to use the wick/wire of your choice. Some are cheaply mass produced, some are handmade. Either can perform well or poorly.
A mod is a PV with replaceable batteries.
A mechanical is a mod without electronics - such as wire, switches, or computer chips.
A hybrid is a mod and RBA combined without using a standard connection. They work as a unit and are not interchangeable.

Some hybrids do have interchangable parts, such as the iHybrid you can currently change the tubes out from 18650 or 18350, it is not the only one that does, it is just the one I know the best. Even Zen is bringing out a "system" where things can be changed around.
Even in those cases tho like Boiler said they do not use a standard 510 (or any other) connection, the atty if not attached to the tubes screws directly on to them. Less contact points on a hybrid means less voltage drop than a standard mod.

what does rba stand for anyways? so im assuming the rba is a tank only? also, the hybrid, are you saying the tank and the device can not be changed? what would be the advantage of that? what set up do you guys prefer? i only have enough money for one, lol. these things can get pretty pricey, but i find it as a hobby now since my old hobby was smoking cigs, lol.

If you type "vaping glossary", "vaping terminology", "vaping lexicon" or something similar into the google-tubes you'll find these things and many more... Also, some abbreviations such as PV are flagged by the forum software here, so put the mouse cursor over them and it'll tell you what it stands for - be warned though, obviously it has no sense of context, so sometimes it thinks someone is talking about something when they're not.
