i keep seeing the ego tank atomizers but cant find a thorough explanation as to what they do. it appears that you use a cartridge with them. but do you have to use the cartridge? can you just drip into it and use a 510 driptip??

im trying to figure out what makes it tank-like, is it just the cartridge holding a reservoir of juice, or does the atomizer itself hold more liquid than a standard atty?

Where you least expect it....
Unlike the classic cartridges of the past. Instead of filler material. It's empty and as you have stated it's a reservoir for e-liquid. At the bottom is a cap with a center hole punched through it.

This center hole allows the "needle" piercing plate to be inserted inside of the cartridge. Within this needle is usually some silica wick that leads to the atomizer which steadily feeds it e-liquid. The atomizer itself does not hold any e-liquid and is dependent on the wick for it to function properly. Kind of like a CE2 in a way.

The placement of the silica within the needle is extremely important. If it's too high then it can cause dry hits and a tight draw. If it's too low then it can cause leaking issues that many have complained about with these systems.
