What is actually good?

Hi All,

I've been using ecigs for about two weeks now. I smoked about a pack of day for 10 years, and stopped so easily the day I bought my ecig. I got the Smoke51 from the mall, and then ordered a DSE901 online after realizing how expensive parts and cartridges are at the mall ($150 for the kit, $30 for atomizer, $15 for 5-pack of cartridges, $50 car charger, etc...).

What I've noticed is that the general ecig community is entirely over-run by vendors, and people advocating for vendors. There are tons of vendors, and tons of people posing as "users", but are vendors in disguise (ie - youtube, and various other ecig review sites).

What is actually good? And I really do not want to hear from vendors about this. Can I get some input from a user about what ecigs are good, and what juice is reputable? I recognize that the industry is still being invented/approved/etc...but surely there are some good and bad out there already.

Is there a vendor out there who is leading this industry yet? I ask because I'm really having a hard time figuring out who to order from. My first online order was missing quite a bit of things I ordered. I'm not going to name names, as the vendor is actually posting on here frequently, and I want to give him a chance to rectify first (it's only been a day).

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

ok I am not a vender, nor am I affialiated with any venders,
here is just my opinion of venders I have myself dealt with,
the truely good ones with a quality product that I have dealt with are
cignot.com, ms ts bakery essentials, tasty vapor, and mad vapes
I am sure there are lots more, I just havent dealt with them myself yet.
Tasty Vapor and Ms ts are excellent for juices.
Cignot carries the 510 and Ego ecigs. Mad vapes carries juice and many many parts
for ecigs, mods, and other things.

/.../ And I really do not want to hear from vendors about this./.../

Well then you are in luck! Nobody that makes money from eCigs IN ANY WAY is allowed to post here in the New Members Forum, and the Moderators here spend an awful lot of time and effort to make sure that they don't. It's one of the quickest ways to get banned from the forum.

Oh, and welcome to ECF! There are tons of great people here, and more info than you can stand! Please do read the stickies, ask lots of questions, and have patience... There is a LOT more to learn than you likely expected!

My faves are in my sig under my banner :)
I also buy my JOYE 510 stuff from cignot (all of it), adapters, 5v PTs and 901 attys from madvapes and ecigsupply and have used a ton more places. All the places I've purchased from have been great - prices are reasonable, service is great to fantastic - and they are ALL on the 'registered suppliers' listed on the forums here. I used THOSE places because they have a reputation to uphold.
Members here tend to advocate places and vendors they have personally bought things from, so you may see a bunch of posts from people who enjoy, for example, DIYFlavorshack juices, which btw are very good, doesn't mean they are affiliated with the owner or the store in any way. Most of these online stores rely on user recommendations for their business, if it was in any way shady or faked people would SOON be telling others about it! Bad news spreads faster than good news and its the same with reviews. I'm not going to recommend anything I haven't used myself as I don't know anything about those suppliers, even if they are great.

People can only generally post what their personal experience is.
Me, I bought the Green Smoke product first, it seemed to have the most positive video reviews. Wish I found this place first.

Second purchase was the 510 starter kit from Cignot, liked that so much bought another one for my wife.

First liquid I bought was from a local tobacco store that only had one brand. The guy selling it didn't know what PG or VG was, no label either. It was just labeled high nicotine.

Then I bought some liquid from Tasty Vapor and WOW. Not only did I get to pick how strong it was when ordering it, I got to pick what percent PG vs VG it was. And once I got the juice, the flavor exploded in my 510.

So the 510 from Cignot and juice from Tasty Vapors has made me happy starting out. Maybe they can do the same for you.

Yep this is a very cool site.

I am a happy customer and I will give a big thumbs up for Cignot and MadVapes They both have excellent prices and great service. They have gotten all my orders correct and shipped the same day or the next day if I ordered to late.

I'm not sure what you are looking for but the 510 is the most popular model around, if you are looking for long batter life go with an eGo if your budget is more limited go with a mega battery kit like this one

510 Mega Kit with no Box

Or you could just keep using what you have untill you save up enough for a mod like a chuck THAG BUILT: A Wolf in Sheeps Clothing! Then you won't have to worry about battery power and when the rechargable battery dies they all do eventually. You only have to buy new batteries and they are much cheaper.

If you have more questions just ask and try and be as specific as possible it makes it a lot easier to answer.

Hello bsilverrob,

I am not a vendor. I’ve been doing the eCigs for approx 18 months, but post very little here. (I just don’t have the time). For the past 10 months or so, I’ve immersed myself into, both the hardware and the liquids, pretty heavy. It’s pretty much my main hobby. I have a section of my basement dedicated to it. And it looks like a cross between a chemistry lab and something that: I could see the local police dept taking notice; with all the wires, switches, batteries, and parts of flashlight lying around.

I’ve purchased from a lot of the vendors that you see here, and I have, something like, 15 different eCigs models. Some I made, most I’ve purchased. I’ll tell you who I prefer and why. But, you’ll see that is like asking: “which is the best religion”, or “who the best NFL team is”. It all in people’s preference and their experiences. So, don’t get frustrated when you see that almost everyone that replies to you will have a different list. Compile everyone’s response and ask questions.

Also, there is a level of experience that I found needs to be taken into consideration. For example: my favorite Hardware (currently, it will probably change next month) is the GGTS or Golden Greek Telescoping System or Transformer Storm). But I think that if I would have purchased the GGTS as my first or second unit. I might have gotten frustrated with it. It can use just any battery combination and any Atty type (501, 901, etc…). It has an optional Auto Fluid delivery system, so I don’t need to screw with refilling carts. But, I blew 2 batteries the first day that I had it. (I thought I knew everything and just took it out of the box, and fired it up) After watching some of the maker’s video, that doesn’t happen anymore.

You said that you bought the mall one. That was my first one. Well, I bought mine at a truck stop. I gave it to a fellow programmer and got him started in this, a few month ago. I recommend the 510 series for hardware. There are several battery options and every vendor carries some form of it. Even though I don’t use the 510 batteries anymore, I still convert everything I buy to a 510 Atty and Cart. Some vendors offer an extra large cart/atty, so you don’t have to fill up as often.

The hardest thing to figure out is the Juice or eLiquid. First, there are Cartomizers (cartridge and atty in one unit), Cartridges (what you have), and Drip (dripping eLiquid in the Atty). I use cartridges. And I fill my own. To dripping is too much work, and although I’ve never tried a cartomizer… I’ve never bought a TV with a DVD built in or a desktop computer that has the monitor built in (something about one going bad before the other; I’ve never gotten past that idea).

And as far as where you by the eLiquid? That you may want to wait for others to chime in. I think I’m the odd one out here. (Kind of like drinking Coke. When you drink Diet Coke, it tastes awful. But you drink it long enough… when you drink the regular Coke again… it now tastes awful)

The first vendor that I bought from was Totally Wicked. Maybe I got used to it. But, I’ve bought from 5 or 6 other vendors and they all have this strange after taste and smell that I don’t like. If fact TW came out with their Patriot Range line of flavors. I was the first to order. I sent all 5 of my bottles back and traded them for the original.

I didn’t mean to ramble on like this. I hope I helped you more than confused you. The people on this forum are great, and have a lot of excellent advice. The main advice that I give you: Don’t get frustrated, it’s like drinking from a fire hose.

Good luck. If you have anything you want to ask me, feel free. It may be a couple days before I get back to you. My wife has terminal cancer. So, it is rare that I have an hour to kill on the forum.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about your situation.

I love the forum so far. From past experience with forums (albeit generally technical ones), I was really expecting rude and condescending remarks to my first post, but so far everyone has just been happy to help out by lending their advice from their own experiences.

I'll have to check out this "joye 510". Seems to be the most popular from what I've read lately. I paid $10 for 10ml of "Vapers Choice" menthol which I haven't tried yet, so I'll check out madvapes.com. So far, the menthol carts that I ordered with my new DSE901 are awfully minty....I'm sure there is a better one out there, although I may get used to it very quickly to the point where I'm swearing by it tomorrow :) Thanks again!

something that will also help is to go through and take a look at the reviews sub forums on this site...especially when it comes to juice. i like madvapes and have had really great luck with vapor4life. especially when it comes to shipping. they both are very quick at getting the order to you, and madvapes has really cheap shipping as well as V4L. if i place my order on a monday, i usually have it no later than wed, sometimes if mail is running slow on thursday. as most people on here will agree, its all about experimentation and seeing what you like to make all this work for ya. :matrix:
some people like some flavors, others hate them...its all up to you. welcome and good luck. everyone on here is very supporting and great for asking questions.

All vendors on this site are reputable.
And just about 95% of posters on this site are real people.

But you will see people championing their favorite vendors here.
It's not that they are affiliated though, they just really like them.

The vendors here generally bend over backwards to make their customers happy.
And happy customers often become big fans.

I started with Johnson Creek juices.
I have nothing bad to say about them whatsoever.

Then I moved on to NHaler juices, and I have nothing bad to say about them either.

Then I bought my Chucks, and I LOVE my Chucks.

And now I a big fan of Tasty Vapor juices.
Although it really bothers me that they don't have samplers.
But I understand why.

And on the way I have ordered from, and been perfectly happy with...
--Heaven Gifts
--Widows Bead Works
--ElectroNicSticks
--DIY Flavor Shack
--MyFreedomSmokes

In other words, you've come to the right place.
:)

I haven't had a bad experience with any of the suppliers I have bought from, and all of them have a presence here. One thing I recommend is trying to find a good supplier that's nearby, I have had very fast shipping from Madvapes and Puresmoker, as I am in the Midwest. Tastyvapor is worth the wait to get their juices. They take a bit longer because they mix their products as they're ordered, and because they are far away from me geographically.

I would recommend trying out a few suppliers. Read reviews here, and don't worry about rushing anything. Oh, and check out "Moobyghost" on Youtube. His reviews are very good, and not sponsored.

I'm a tobacco flavor fan and I have fallen for the reviews also. First lesson was not to buy 30 ml liquid because of a review and to always buy small samples first.
As far as my vendors go.I have gotten great service from all of them.
I have found ValueVapor (Austin Texas) awesome for Cheap $5.00 atty's. And my liquids of choice (Tobacco's) to be from Nhaler's Octane line.
Devices...Oh god...Just remember they are a housing for batteries with a button ! I started with greensmoke....then to a Tornado...now i got an Xhaler...Im done...No really Im done. Good l luck with your journey and I hope you find your niche.
