Whenever you think about vaping's future take into consideration the first principles involved.

Is it fear of the State's awesome power, or is it willful enabling of that power, or is it just being realistic to accept/encourage/cheer reasonable regulation?

Do you have the right to live your life as you see fit? Is it your life? Do you have the right, no matter how numerous your fellow travelers may be, to use the State, as your agent, with their monopoly of the initiation of the use of force (police, guns), to impose your will upon or to pilfer the property/life of other individuals ?

Is this the United States of America's way?

Happy Independence Day

We want to be left the hell alone

hit the nail on the head..... and not just vaping, i want to government to shrink to a size that only allows them to do their jobs and nothing more. i want them to uphold the constitution of the united states, the law of the land. no where in the constitution does it say they must regulate and tax us to death, that is actually why the founding fathers left england.... they would be appaled at what exists today.

My entire region seems filled with tea party types, they all want to be left alone.....to use the community pool, the community college, the hospital, the re-done sidewalks downtown, the airport, the tennis courts in the park, the children's playgrounds and duck ponds behind the college.......and the huge federal medical health clinic and dental clinic which is state of the art modern and everybody's kid here gets arkids free medical insurance (beofre this if they had a tootheache you either suffered until you were close to dying and could go to an ER....) and then after the massive tornadoes wiped out the town and FEMA came in.........not to mention the massive ice storm a few years eariler that paralyzed the region.........all of these things which were put in and financed with federal grant $$.

I pretty much laugh when I hear them repeating their anti government memes. "We just want to be left alone......." . I guess it's annoying to them when I nicknamed this place "the town that federal tax dollars built" because it is close to truth.

Wonder who the first ones are who make the telephone calls when their roads have a tiny pothole in them....the same ones who vote down the taxes to improve our roads every year.

I was for the freedom to smoke as a smoker and still am but when I quit and switched to vaping, it seems like some stigma has followed. I cannot escape legislation on me being allowed to do what makes me happy (and healthier). As a poster stated above, I want the government to get the hell out of my personal circle and stop trying to tax everything because some lobby is unhappy they're losing part of their billion-dollar-a-year profit. Oklahoma Senator Rob Johnson (.......) is trying to push through a law that would require a tobacco license for vapor shops which would certainly hurt these small shops as these licenses are incredibly expensive. And then they would kill internet sales, leaving cigarette vendors alone so that we'd be paying the very companies we are quitting for the best option we have of quitting. Brilliant on RJ Reynolds' part, but just goes to show the government is not ours and bootlegging is about to make one hell of a comeback.

It's all about money. Period. The Government agencies that can regulate Vaping are influenced by Tobacco and Pharmaceutical Companies. It has nothing to do with Liberty to them only us. They will try (and eventually succeed) at outlawing us from buying Nicotene base because it is toxic and dangerous. By that same logic they should also prohibit us from buying bleach and Draino. The regulatory bodies will allow people to smoke them to death if they get their cut. That's what they want. Their cut. Ideology is nice but you have to back it up with action. I think forums like these are our best chance. I'm inspired by the diversity and community here. Activism is the only way to slow the regulations and to get a say in how far they go.

I want my American rights back. You remember, those rights our soldiers fought and died for.
The right to the pursuit of happiness. For ALL of us.
Whiners and complainers of everything in life, are taking away everything in life. One by one. They're all disappearing. Heck, we can't even BBQ in our own backyards anymore in many areas.
Whiners and complainers DEMAND that smokers and vapers stay 20'-30' away from them... this means the smoker and the vapers have NO WHERE TO GO. How is that fair? We can't even vape right outside the door? We can't vape in the open air, on the beaches? We can't enjoy a day out with our families? We can't shop? No wonder America is going broke. We're being forced to stay home, in the basement, where no one can see us.
We want our rights. There is plenty of open air for everyone. How dare you restrict open air to the whiners who don't even know what they're whining about. We deserve open air too. We deserve the right to quit smoking by whatever means works for us. Vaping is the best tool that's ever come along into our smoking lives. We ARE ex-smokers, and we would like some common courtesy here.
We want the public to be educated properly, honestly, so that we can once again live side by side in harmony and freedom.
The soldiers who fought and died for ME too, did not die for the right to send me to the middle of the street to have a vape. They died so that I and you and her and him can have freedom, liberty and justice for ALL.
That's what I (we) want.

We want to vape with no new taxes on our products. I disagree with Uma though on vaping in public. Vaping is a lifestyle, and as far as "open air" public vaping, I think we still have a responsibility to do it without "exposing" our vape to others as most people still don't know what it is so it gives them a negative look on it. Just my 2 cents ...

Dubious studies and outright lies about second hand smoke have been used , in effect, to take private property from individuals. Even if there was science to back the claims -- individuals could avoid working at or visiting private properties that would allow smoking.

Instead force is being used and now vapers are asked to accept the same force and taking of their property/life. I don't want people to be uncomfortable and certainly will respect their right to be left alone. I expect the same from them.

I really distance myself that 20-30' from smokers...the smell kinda makes me sick.

Prog, I refer to my neighbors as they refer to themselves, as members of the tea party. We all get along great, since we share similar interests. I'm just not a hypocrite so when federal funds and FEMA come in to practically rebuild a whole town after a major tornado or ice storm, I don't say "we don't need you". I thouht it was great when we got a medical and dental facility, too. And a community college.

The best way to get taxes back into your own community, and yourself by association, is to write grants. It affords you the opportunity to be civic-minded and create some wonderful things to improve your communities esp. for things that require millions of dollars to implement.

Unfortunately, grantwriting is very hard and time-consuming, and most people don't want to bother with it. It's much easier to complain about paying taxes. :p

We want the public to be educated properly, honestly, so that we can once again live side by side in harmony and freedom

Who exactly is stopping you from educating the public or disseminating information? Put some in-services or conferences together.

If you let the ANTZ do all the work, who's fault is that?

As for being left alone..... I would say "be careful what you wish for" cuz at least 70% of people who move out to the boonies don't "make it" ...... they simply don't have enough basic skills to do stuff for themselves that is required to live. Everyone though, does have this choice.

Seems to me there is a whole lot of complaining and whining on both sides of the fence. At least that is what i have observed.

Hello? We have been informing, everywhere possible. We write our senators, we comment in articles, we share with anyone who will listen. It is the authority figures who don't listen.. ANTZ like Corbett and Glantz, etc. They're out there. So before you topple off that high horse, I suggest you dig a spur into the real nitty gritty.

There will always be, and has always been, opposing sides to ANY issue, to any lifestyle, to any idea, to any innovation, to any invention, and to any philsophy.

That is normal. And the way of the world. That's the spur we are all digging, every single day, around numerous life issues, not just vaping.....
