I agree, get the V5 in stainless, all the other Vamo types lose their coating very quickly, in particular the gunmetal.

Variable wattage is generally more desirable than variable voltage now, although most variable wattage devices do allow for voltage. I haven't really looked at the higher version VAMO's really, there are so many better options today that they aren't very popular anymore. That said, I do own a VAMO clone and it works fine (stainless) :)

I have a gunmetal v2, had it since about August. So far the finish is only "rubbing off" on the bottom around the edge, and on the fire button. The extension tube got a bad scratch on it, I think from my wedding ring. But, I got it at VaporBreak for $17, so I figured if it starts looking ratty, I'll get a nice wrap for it, there are a lot of good ones for Vamos.
