Just got an igo as I'm learning to rebuild. I have an MVP2 & what is the lowest ohm I should go. Did a little math & came up with 1.2 ohm... Just wanna make sure. If I wanna do 1.5 w/ 28 Guage, how many wraps on what size drill bit?
Math is correct... 1.2Ω at 3a.

You can play with the air... there are no "chiseled in stone" rules.

Click on both my first and second sig line hyperlinks. Read until you puke... then read some more.

Cheers!

Simple but still a favorite of mine: I get great flavor and good dense vapor with 1.5 ohm micro-coil - 28 gauge kanthal - 12 wraps 5/64th drill bit with peaches and cream cotton rope (walmart) wicking. vape @8 watts on my MVP 2.

Rip Trippers and others on youtube show this build.

Ahh, I went to Walmart & no peaches & cream:( Is it in a different section then cosmetics w/ other cotton balls? Will check the other Walmart in another city close to me, Probably will have to order online. I have organic cotton & aunt Lydia's Bamboo thread right now. Anybody try the bamboo thread?

It is with the crafts section. Where yarn and stuff are kept.

Also, when building single coils, should I cover up the 2nd airhole? Somebody said they seen a Rip Tripper video & he did but, I couldn't find the video..

You'll want to drill out one of the airholes. Start with a 1/16" hole, try that for a couple weeks, only drill out more if you really want to. Don't bother messing with the other airhole. It's so small from the factory that it is insignificant.

Anyone ever going to Explain to Regulated Mod users that they do not need to Sub ohm to get a decent working dripper?

The whole point of Regulated mods is to keep the Vape consist and INCREASE available battery output. (Boost power)

MVP @5v on 1.2ohm = 20.83 watts
A Mechanical running the came coil will only average 12 watts

Yes, and the maximum output on an MVP2 is 11W/5V/3.5A so you are better off with a 1.5-2 ohm coil. Something like 28K with 12 wraps on 2mm ID.

Getting fancy, triple twisted 32K is very nice on a regulated mod.

The MVP2 will fire as low as 0.8; mine did at the weekend, anyway, according to its ohm-meter, when I used G-plat wire thinking it was Kanthal... It's happier not sub-ohming, though

Check out the model specific thread for the MVP, lot of knowledgeable and helpful people there! Got me out of the hole I was digging in...

.8ohm is Explained as the LOWER LIMIT
Much like 120 on a Speedo
It does not mean you should go there or that the unit will survive continual abuse in doing so.
