A few people have asked what they could do if the button top moved too far down and stopped the button from working.

It has been interesting reading some of the things that have been done to prevent that from happening.

After a "feeler" post about this I decided to start this thread.

So share REO peeps!

Dunno. I have (and like) the stock button. It has never accidentally rotated to the lock position, but I lock it when I throw it in my belt pack when riding my dirtbike.

I can tell you that my thumb is stuck ON it most of the time.

A thin slice of a fluted plastic wall anchor that was the same diameter as the hole in the button:

Tiny magnets. I have about 50 in various sizes. Not much use for them otherwise and no time for crafty things nowdays. I learned my lesson getting any magnets other than from Robert for doors. I glued a wrong size into a Woodvil 18490. It was too small so door doesn't line up properly. Easy to DYI remove magnet from metal REO but the Master is going to remove magnet from precious Woodvil.

I didn't think you were serious about this thread! Haha... Cut a piece of carto condom, and stuffed it in there.

I was dead serious! There have been people that were at a loss for what to do with a button that would not stay put.

Just figured ideas might help someone if they are stumped at what to do.

I can't contribute because mine are on pretty solid. Only one moved down and I just pulled it back into place and it is fine.

Thank you all who contribute to help other Reonauts!

I did what "Donkeytap" suggested. Last night I cut that white tubing that comes with the Button Cap and one of my cuts fits neatly inside the Cap so that now I don't have to worry about the Cap sliding down too far; and although I'm careful not to press real hard on my firing button; there are times when you hit your Mod and nothing seems to happen and your first instinct (wanting a real good hit and tons of vapor to come pouring out and it doesn't) is to press the button down further.

If the little plastic thing gets lost or breaks or you lose yours I'm sure you could cut the ends of a toothpick off and use the "thick" middle part to do the same thing. It just sort of helps make "not pressing down too far or with too much force" almost "idiot proof."

Thanks for the ideas folks,

Norman
