I'm using an eGo 1100 with Boge 2.0 ohm cartomizers and every so often I'm getting a taste that can only be described as plastic. It doesn't taste burnt, and the cart is newly filled. What is causing this and how do I make it stop?
Sadly getting the same thing, I've tried refilling and letting it sit a minute to soak up juice. Only thing I could think of is the fill material has burned somehow.
Hope someone who has been doing this for awhile comes by to help :/
It's possible to drain a carto in under an hour...well at least I can do it easily. Are you getting the taste when you first use it or after you've used it for awhile? While using, do you notice a flavor loss first and then the plastic taste?
You can definitely burn a carto in an hour after filling if you don't refill it soon enough. My guess is that's the problem.
Next time, fill a new carto as normal and let it sit a few minutes. Give it another couple drops. Take a half-dozen hits and see if it will accept any more juice. Sometimes it seems full at first, but really isn't. You might also do the "Taryn Spin" with it. You'll be surprised how much more a "filled" carto takes after the spin. Search here and/or Youtube for instructions on the Taryn Spin.
Yes, there is a bit of a flavor loss before the plastic taste. Am I just not refilling soon enough? I'm sorry, I'm very new at this!
Also wanted to add...when you fill a new carto, let it sit on the threaded end for at least 20 minutes before using so that the juice settles all the way to the bottom. On refilling, not really a need to do this but make sure the top of the filler looks slushy.
i'm getting that nasty plastic taste and i'm using a drip tip.... it seems to come in randomly sometimes though... .sometimes even just after i put a few drops in i'll get the plastic nasty taste for even two full hits... doesn't make sense to me because if i'm dripping riht on the burner then the taste should go away if it's from being empty, shouldn't it?
OK, I understand. More is better. Pay close attention to the first fill, then refill at the first sign of flavor dropout, even if it's just an hour.
Thank you so much!

Just an hour? Granted, I'm a heavy vaper, but I've never gone anywhere near that much time without having to top off. More like 20 minutes or so, add 5 or 6 drops, then 8 or 10 drops every half hour or 45 minutes.
