Thanks for your response, hairball. Yes, I've encountered it a few times today with different cartomizers (I'm using several different flavors today). I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I fill the carts using the condom method, then I drip about 10 drops into the top as well, until the filling is completely saturated. But I still get a strange plastic taste that is really unpleasant. Is it possible to burn out a cart in an hour or two?

Sadly getting the same thing, I've tried refilling and letting it sit a minute to soak up juice. Only thing I could think of is the fill material has burned somehow.
Hope someone who has been doing this for awhile comes by to help :/

I hope someone can help as well. If the fill material is burned somehow, I need to know why that is happening. Should that happen with an hour or two of filling a brand new cart?

You can definitely burn a carto in an hour after filling if you don't refill it soon enough. My guess is that's the problem.
Next time, fill a new carto as normal and let it sit a few minutes. Give it another couple drops. Take a half-dozen hits and see if it will accept any more juice. Sometimes it seems full at first, but really isn't. You might also do the "Taryn Spin" with it. You'll be surprised how much more a "filled" carto takes after the spin. Search here and/or Youtube for instructions on the Taryn Spin.

It's possible to drain a carto in under an hour...well at least I can do it easily. Are you getting the taste when you first use it or after you've used it for awhile? While using, do you notice a flavor loss first and then the plastic taste?

Yes, there is a bit of a flavor loss before the plastic taste. Am I just not refilling soon enough? I'm sorry, I'm very new at this!

OK, so even though it looks full, it might not really be full? Also, once you taste plastic does that mean the carto is dead, or can it be saved somehow?

You got it. Flavor loss is the first sign that your carto is going dry. When you encounter this, stop immediately and refill it. If you go beyond this, you get that dreaded taste which results in not being able to use that carto again...you'll never get that taste out even if you refill it.

i'm getting that nasty plastic taste and i'm using a drip tip.... it seems to come in randomly sometimes though... .sometimes even just after i put a few drops in i'll get the plastic nasty taste for even two full hits... doesn't make sense to me because if i'm dripping riht on the burner then the taste should go away if it's from being empty, shouldn't it?

Also wanted to add...when you fill a new carto, let it sit on the threaded end for at least 20 minutes before using so that the juice settles all the way to the bottom. On refilling, not really a need to do this but make sure the top of the filler looks slushy.

OK, I understand. More is better. Pay close attention to the first fill, then refill at the first sign of flavor dropout, even if it's just an hour.

Thank you so much!

No...that burnt taste will last. Are you using an atomizer or cartomizer? If it's an atomizer, you can clean it with either vodka or rubbing alcohol and get that taste out. If it's a cartomizer, toss it.

It can also possibly be your drip tip. Wash it in hot soapy water. Sometimes they will give off a plastic taste, while rarely does this happen, it can. A good washing usually helps with that.

Just an hour? Granted, I'm a heavy vaper, but I've never gone anywhere near that much time without having to top off. More like 20 minutes or so, add 5 or 6 drops, then 8 or 10 drops every half hour or 45 minutes.

Can you help me understand the term "heavy vaper"? Does that mean vaping for an hour straight? I use mine pretty much like a cigarette - puff a few times for a couple minutes, then puff again for a couple minutes an hour or so later. Like maybe 20 puffs an hour. Do I still need to add 10-15 drops every hour? That seems like kind of a lot for only 20 puffs or so.....?

This might all be easier with a clearomizer. I have a couple of those, but haven't tried it yet. That way I could see exactly how much juice is in there and wouldn't have to guess.

I chain vape, especially when I'm sitting at my computer. I don't really vape like I would smoke a cigarette though, it seems oddly different to me.

If I'm using 16mg Liquid, I usually will sit and vape about 3-4 puffs, then put 3 drops into the atty, I'll sit and Vape that for about 10 Minutes. When I use 18mg Liquid, I sit and vape about 4-5 puffs and put in 3 drops, I'll sit and Vape that for about 6-8 minutes. When I use 24mg Liquid I vape 4-5 puffs then put in 3 drops, I'll only Vape from this for about 5 minutes, anything more and I get a headache.

When I use a Cartomizer, I'll fill it, usually the condom method or syringe method and Vape on it for a good 30 minutes, again depending on what MG liquid I use. With the lighter MG Liquids I refill a Carto or Clearomizer every 15 minutes.

One tip I've learned, with Dripping, is after you put your drops in, blow on the mouthpiece a little until it settles. When I use my Cartomizer or Clearomizers, I tilt it up side down before I Vape if I start tasting any kind of plastic or burnt taste. This seems to redistribute the liquid.
