What is the alternative to cartomizers?

I really like this 100% VG smoke juice. It really hasn't been working with the cartomizers that I've been using with my KR808D-1, it keeps giving me a nasty burnt taste. I've been told that, for a variety of reasons, VG just does not do well with cartomizers. So, because I would like to keep using VG, what is the alternative to cartomizers? Could someone give me some models and brands that I should look into?

Thanks in advance for you help.

Welcome , and you can still probably use the carto's by thinning down your juice . You can use distilled water , or Pure grain alcohol . Only add a few drops at a time , until you get the right consistency . The burnt taste either came from the primer they use on the carto's , or the juice was too thick to get to the coils on the carto . You can also try using atty's as well , but still need to thin down the juice a bit , or you risk clogging and / or gunking it up with the straight VG . Anyway , that's my .02 worth

You could drip and just use atomizers. You could also prob use a tank of some sort, but I don't use them so I'm going to let someone else that will know more direct you for that.

If you really want to stick to cartomizers, I would try a "ressurector" cartomizer from crystal clear vaping. It is a 510 connection so you would have to get an adapter to use them though. The ressurectors polyfil are more loosely wrapped than a lot of other cartos and I found that they take VG pretty well. I have a 85% VG Juice I really like and have been using the same ressurector for 3 weeks with it with no problems.

Tanks generally don't like thick juices either

simple stuffing cartomizers - I think 20% or less VG works best for long carto life
dual coil cartomizers (only for big batteries, 450mah+) - some say they can use VG in these
tanks and reservoir cartomizers - typically like 30% VG or less, some thinner 50/50 juices may work
normal atomizer - any PG/VG as long as it flows at least as fast as you vape

And note - some vendors thin their high-VG liquids for better flow, and some sell them really thick. Or you can thin them.

I haven't had good results with tanks and VG. Tanks have wicking issues with PG juices. They have major wicking issues with thicker VG.

I keep a dropper bottle of vodka to use to thin any juices that are too thick. It's easier to deal with than a gallon of distilled water and easier to get than PGA (like, go to cabinet, get vodka bottle, fill dropper bottle). That being said, I've only had to thin one or two bottles of liquid.

Before you give up on your cartos (especially if you have a bunch at hand already)...try this filling method.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/200782-cartomizerfillinator.html

Be sure to blow through the carto good (back into the bottle maybe) and wipe before screwing it on your battery.

It's worked wonders for me in making sure the filler is well saturated and there aren't any dry/air traps in it. Often times it's that 'first fill' that just doesn't want to soak in good...this method of filling seems to takes care of that for me.

If it vapes great for several hits at first fill then goes dry...
You can try giving the carto a shake or tap from time to time (like packing your old analogue ciggies). If you use a neck lanyard, just give it a spin or two every now and then. Or as mentioned before, thin the liquid a little with distilled water, vodka, or PGA.

I've used the method for 808-D1, Regular Boges (and other vertical coil cartos), and of course the Dual Coil cartos.

I've also had good luck with thick liquids in the 801 type atomizers and their native carts. You'd need a 901/808>801 adapter for this. You can also drip in these FAT atties and they do a very nice job (extra large bridge holds nearly twice as much as a regular 510 or 901 atomizer). 801 drip tips are a little bigger, so you might want one if you plan to drip in the 801 (be careful if your batteries are autos).

Given your battery type, the 801 would make it look something like an ink pen instead of an e-cig. You'd probably drain the battery before you emptied the cart, as I can get a good hour from a single fill constantly vaping at high voltages.

I wish I had my bookmarks on my phone browser. There is a pushbutton tip that you put on top of an atty, holds about 1ml of juice. I only tried it with straight VG once, but it worked.

It seems to be the best of both words.

I'll get a link when I get back to the computer if nobody beats me to it.

The one I tried really didn't work well at all. I was pushing and pushing that button and got nothing but dry hits.

You'll need a 901 atomizer to go with the pump carts and your KR808-D1 battery.

Prime the atty good before inserting the pump-cart.
Every 5th draw or so, Push the cart button and hold it down...draw air through the e-cig while holding it down and it'll rewet the atty. It can take some practice to get it just right.
OR, adjust the poly fill ball in the bottom plug (maybe even try taking it out all together if your juice is really thick).

I tried hitting the button a few times too at first. Definitely doesn't work. lol HOld and draw without firing off the atty is the way.
