But it IS a reason to buy a mech.

Some regulated devices are close to the reliability of a mech, like the provari. But dna devices have never been touted for their ability to withstand a beating or their long lifespan. It's a niche device that provides high power when compared to other regulated devices, not when compared to mechanicals. But when you try and make claims about them being the downfall of mechs, you're going to need a lot more evidence than your 2 weeks of vaping experience and a rip trippers sound bite.

Your argument is inherently flawed and you've stated yourself that you really don't know what you're talking about because you don't even have a mech. And if you're not even willing to put it through a first hand test, you shouldn't try and make claims about their performance. When people do that, it's only a display of ignorance.

Ok I went ahead and ordered a black/copper Stingray clone from fluidvapes so I can experience first hand what I'm missing out on. I do know one thing this thing will look sexy with the black KFL + and rose gold KFL + I ordered

Its not a reason to NOT buy a DNA30 device which is what is being implied when you are touting them as much more reliable. If you only buy one mech mod to save money that makes sense but don't tell me reliability is a reason or a issue with buying a DNA30 device because they are cheap especially if you compare it to a stash of mech mods.

I'm pretty sure no one is telling anyone not to buy a DNA30... You asked what the benefits of a mech are... people explained.

If you have faith in the reliability of a cloned DNA30 mod, that should be good enough for you. Consider it money well spent. If it ends poorly, consider it a lesson learned! Either way, you win!

Congrats on not smoking... it gets easier!!

Congrats... but just as an FYI... Kayfuns seem to run best between the .8-1.2 ohm range... and at most, that around 22watts. So you're not really going to experience first hand what people are talking about here with what you just ordered. Just sayin...

Additionally, no one is saying that their vape preference is better than anyone else... only that that is THEIR preference... take from that as you will.

DNA30 devices are great and I would never suggest that somebody NOT get one. And I wouldn't suggest a mech in their place, because they're not replaceable by mechs. They have one of the best chips available and are some of the most versatile regulated devices.

But in reality, it is you who were suggesting that a DNA30 should be purchased in place of a mechanical, claiming that mechanicals are now inferior devices when compared to DNAs.

If we're just comparing them based on price then mechanicals win every time. Authentic mechanicals usually cost between $100 and $250, and almost all authentic DNA mods cost $200 to $300. If you're talking about clones, as far as I know there is only 1 DNA clone, and it's the Hana Mods DNA30 clone which is priced at $50 to $80 dollars from what I've seen. Mechanical clones, on the other hand, offer a price range of between $10 and $50 on average, I've seen a couple on fasttech as low as $5.

And you're right, people often do start collecting mechs. But you seem to think that they do that for negative reasons, like the mods are breaking, or they're not satisfied with the performance they get. When in reality, people usually collect them for positive reasons. Like, they're overwhelmingly satisfied with the performance that they want to try some other ones that get even better reviews. Or they like the way they look, so they buy more styles to change the look of their set up. I know I've heard lots of people say that they're starting a small collection of mechanicals and rebuildable atomizers so that no matter what the FDA does they're not worried about it as much.

I'll say it again, just to be clear: DNA devices are great, I've used a couple and really like them a lot, they perform wonderfully and there is no substitute for one. But they're not going to make mechanicals obsolete. Mechanicals will always be able to do things that regulated devices cannot do. They will always be smaller and more compact. And there will always be a market for them.

I wish I got this answer in the first place instead of all that other jibber jabber for once someone speaks the truth.

....

One good reason to get a few mechs is to have a place to keep your batteries!

While this certainly isnt a jab at ALL of his viewers...(i have watched a few myself) why am I not surprised that the OP of a craptaztic thread like this quotes RIPTrippers as a source?

you will love your mech

before I was into mechs I had a zmax v3 which I loved, I always tought that i would hate the voltage dropping as it isn't regulated and wanted a dna device. because of the money I decided to get a cheap mech clone before just to try it out ($20) but the day I received I had one of those nirvana moments, I found my place here on the mechs and drippers and been here for almost a year and now I know I'll never get a dna or a regulated device again.

I'm telling you this as an encouragement you have made a small investment on the mech if you by a remote chance don't like it too much it is a perfect bulletproof backup in case of a zombie (FDA) apocalypse.

I got a mech mod pretty much purely for aesthetics. I thought the black copper Stingray was pretty. Now that I have it, I'm keeping it for the size. It'll be my stealth option. I don't sub ohm and my favorite toppers are Kayfuns and cartotanks so I'll likely never fire anything under 1 ohm on it. It simply looks really nice with my new black Kayfun on it.

got the stringray and it's looks cool and it has a different feel firing so it is a little refreshing and fun but man that little box mod is so much more convenient for me to ADV without thinking.

3 KFL+... I actually like my Russian 91% because of the airy draw
