now that DNA30 devices are out? doesn't this give you the best of both worlds? What can a mech mod do that a DNA30 or any VW device do?

I would rather turn the question around and ask why would you buy dna30 or any other regulated mod when with mechanicals you get more than any regulated mod can do. Besides that, you can drop the mechanical onto a concrete and it will still work. You can wash it and it will work.

Man up and get yourself a mechanical mod. Regulated devices are for women and whiners. But if you happened to have a regulated mod already, you may consider buying a pink colored purse which will nicely complement your regulated device.

I guess I'm a woman or a whiners I bought myself a mechanical mod and other then looking cool I find myself using my VW all day everyday. You see if you aren't a crazy sub ohmer kind of person mech mod serves no perpose but to sit pretty on your shelf or to be there as a backup to a disaster.

Well, a DNA 30 can't fire anything over 30 watts. And most regulated devices can't fire anything under 1.2 ohms. Mechanical mods can fire anything. They're reliable and effective. They can be washed. They are definitively the best looking of all vaporizers. And, you can get them in any price range, unlike the DNA devices.

This is very good. Its answers like this that make it easy for new comers.

Unfortunately it can leave the newcomer mislead into believing a mech mod gives higher power.
High power comes from a high power battery (or other supply).

The reason high powered mods are not mass produced is that high powered batteries are not as prevalent.

The more typical batteries are the 5 amp and 10 amp batteries.

Not all folks that sub ohm can be stereotyped as being cloud chasers. For a lot of us, it depends on where your flavor sweet spot is. For example, on a Kayfun or a Russian, I enjoy a 1.4 ohm single coil at about 12.5 watts. I happily vape that on mech and regulated mods. But bring my dual coil Fogger v4 into the mix, and suddenly I need to hit closer to 25 watts (12.5 watts per coil) to achieve my desired vape. To achieve such a high wattage, I use two 1.4 ohm coils on my Fogger, which brings me to 0.7 ohms. At a full battery charge of 4.2 volts on a mech (with an appropriate battery for safety) I can easily hit that 25 watts mark for my flavor sweet spot.

Now some folks have a different sweet spot than I do, so it's not absurd for their mark to be much higher than 25 watts. Couple that with the fact that some people go beyond dual coil atomizers (tri coil, quad coil, and beyond), which continues to demand a higher overall wattage output.

So in short, don't be so quick to just write it all off as cloud chasing nonsense. Don't knock it before you try it :)

Pictured is a dual coil Origen dripper at .8 ohms.
The igo on the launcher is a single coil at .47 ohms

Those aren't set up for cloud chasing.
I have an igo with dual 24 g coils built at .17 ohms and a Hades for storm clouds.
:)
