What is the benefit of using atomizers instead of cartomizers?

I've never used a clearomizer, so it's hard for me to make a comparison. I've also almost completely moved on to cartomizers after a year plus of atty's only. If you find the right atty for the device you are using, the hits are hard to reproduce with a carto imo. I love my Bloogs, but a lr901 on a 18650 device give a massive hit, every time. I hated carts, so I always dripped. And if you can get used to doing that day in, day out, then atty's aren't that bad.

Atomizers are only good for dripping IMO, as I find cartridges to be totally useless (even when modded). HOWEVER: I find that dripping into an atomizer is a great way to vape for a couple of reasons (as compared with clearomizers for example).

• you can taste your new e-liquid(s) without filling anything up, cleaning anything up, washing anything out.

• nice to not have to buy and replace worn out hardware or try to mod or replace parts -- all you need is the atomizer and a drip tip (drip tip optional)

• no having to wait for anything to wick up, no having to wait a moment between drags, if you are ready to vape then you have but to drip a couple of drops and vape

Attys are good for trying new juices - either by dripping or I usually do it with a cart with blue foam stuffing (I can easily pull, rinse, pat dry the stuffing). I mostly use cartos now because I like not having to add juice so often. But I do keep a 306 atty and cart (w/ blue foam) for flavors that I don't vape all the time (it will screw right on 510). I have FSUSA Voodoo in it right now. Together the 306 atty and cart looks almost the same as 510 carto - just holds a lot less juice. I also still use my M401 (w/ cart and atty) for an extra flavor - I have oRYental4 in it right now.

I guess another benefit of attys - if you take care of them they will last a lot longer than a carto. And a plain atty cart can last months and months - just add new blue foam or other stuffing when it needs it.

I love my atomizers because I drip about 95% of the time, maybe more. I'm sitting here at work, dripping at my desk. It's the best way to really taste flavors and waste less juice.

I use cartos when I can't (or just don't want to) drip. I'm addicted to the 510 and 808 cartos from IkenVape. He has LR's that just came out and I'm anxiously waiting for my order to arrive. They're so easy to fill, don't kill the flavor and last for quite a while!

Right now, I'm stuck on the Ego-T tank. I've tried 510 standard, mega, mega cylinder, mega cone, and 510 LRs. I just ordered a 306 atty and cart since Don the BWB guy told us on his thread that he uses a 306 LR atty because it produces the truest taste and vapor from the juices he brews. He's the guy with the recipe! Who am I to question his hardware?

So, I'm patiently waiting on my 306 atty to see how it works for me. I'll still use the Ego Tank for most of my vaping unless the 306 blows my taste buds out of the water.

I've tried the CE2 cartos and didn't think the taste was there. Too much plastic taste for me, even after doing the mods on the CE2.

The Joye mega cylinder has been my go to atty for months now until I tried the tank. The Ego Tank is the easiest maintenance system I've used and most consistent from full to empty.
