For a good start grab yourself a nice Ego or Riva kit, some LR-510 Attys, then head over to a good juice supplier and grab a decent tobacco juice as well as a flavor one that you think your taste buds will enjoy. This is probably a good place for you to start. Libertyflights.com has Riva's on sale and usually a nice selection of Ego & Riva batts, the 900-1100 mAh Batts also have a longer charge cycle but best to make sure you get at lease two batts, places like Avejuice.com have some very good liquids as well. Hope that helps, your gonna get a ton of different people telling you to get a bunch of different stuff as well as go to a bunch of different suppliers, the two I just gave you are very reputable and the goods are of a high quality.

i think the 2 newbs may want to check out a KR808 model. for a new user i think big batteries, lr attys and the like are simply too complex. the 808 is a 2 piece model where the cartridge and atomizer are in combined into one. i've tried several models and have found that the 808 best simulates the ease and feel of having a cigarette. 2 808 vendors i know of are vapor4life and smoketip.com, both have very nice starter kits.

Hi mtwiggz -

I just started this month and bought from smoketip.com - I am happy I did - I agree that the many options you have open to you with e cigs is just too broad to decide upon starting - it takes study!!!! Smoketip has a discount right now - I think it's $10 off - search for their discount on this site (someone can point you there if you have trouble finding it). The batteries are warrented for life and everyone says they really stand by this. You will get 5 cartos with the kit - I think you will want to order more. Save these cartos after they are finished - there's lot's more you can do with them. I have been studying myself and it looks like you can refill these (watch those videos that were mentioned) and even do some mod's on them - see:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-nf-carto-mod-kr8-atty-510-vertical-atty.html - which may take care of all your needs! Anyway, there are lot's of really interesting e cigs and no matter what you buy now you will likely, get another and then maybe another - it really won't hurt you to start with smoketip or similar type of e cig (but I think smoketip is great and I like the juice it comes with too). I don't work for smoketip - just a fan. Good luck - maybe you can post back here to tell us what you did get and then what you thought of it.

Trust me when I tell you the KR8 and cartos like V4L wont give you the right amount of vapor, the Ego/Riva with a dripping tip and a LR510 is so simple to use its crazy and deliver plumes of great taste and vapor, sooner or later your going to step up to this model if your serious about vaping so its a great place to start over a small KR8 batt that you will get sick of having to charge every half hour or so, the Ego/Riva will hold a charge for most of your day and the LR510 is a great Atty for you but hey what do I know right, hahah

Sound advise here and it is coming from someone who has more hardware on hand than some Suppliers!

The eGo may be a good place to start. I wish it would have been my first e-cig. In fact, I put up an article at eCigology.com about it. You can read it here: What Is The Best E-Cig? | eCigology

Just to add a little more of a push in the direction others are sending you.... I am still very new to all this but when I got my kr8 it really didn't work for me. I got a good throat hit and decent vapor but it was lacking. I tried a 510 model and the vapor and taste were the best (still are) but battery life is the worst without a mega battery and throat hit is less. So a week after I got the 510 I ordered an inferno (which I believe is a rebranded eGo) Battery is the best, ease of use, and you can get empty cartomizers to go with it so it's a two piece unit if that is what you prefer. I use a drip tip personally but I also have the cartomizers just in case I need them.
I do believe you will migrate towards an eGo no matter what model you start with. if you start with the eGo you'll be saving some money.

I wish the eGo had been my first e-cigarette. I have a couple of them now. With a cartomizer, it's a piece of cake to use. Lots of online vendors sell 510 cartomziers and they all fit the eGo. I like the Boge brand 510 cartos best. My favorite device is the Puresmoker ICON and Prodigy. I have a couple of those as well. It takes the same 510 cartomizers as the eGo.

The Provari looks like an amazing device, but for a beginner, it might be a bit confusing. It's also a too pricey to consider as an entry level device. Even the ICON and Prodigy are a bit on the expensive side for entry level.

There is nothing more confusing or complicated with an eGo or Riva than any other ""Starter"" e-cig.

I recommend the eGo or Riva. I would recommend checking out Liberty Flights. Here is a link to LF in this forum:
Liberty Flights

From there you can click onto their website. The Riva is $29.99 after your ECF discount. Shipping is $2.99. At check out enter discount code ECF and the discount is taken right off your invoice. I have used LF, (many of us here have used them) and they are a good company to deal with.

They also have drip tips, cartridges, cartomizers, e-juice, atomizers, etc. I like the flat shipping charge of $2.99 - period.

As I said, there is nothing complicated about the eGo or the Riva. Getting anything smaller means you are charging batteries all day / night long. Mods are good, but I don't see recommending them to someone coming into the forum looking for a good, basic, first pv. Mods come & go. Good mods will always be available for you if and when you are ready to purchase one.

A note when ordering your e-juice. Order small bottles. If you don't like it, you don't have a lot of money invested in it. If you like it, you can always order a larger bottle.

Happy Vaping,
Paula

And I am backwards of the rest of you. I started with an eGo, picked up a couple of Rivas, got a box mod, and a Silver Bullet. And after all that, about a month ago I finally tried an automatic KR808 from V4L, and I love it. I fill two cartos up before I go to bed, have two standard batteries charged up and ready to go and two minis ready just in case, and I'm done. No fussing, no fiddling, no mess. No dripping, no roll of paper towels on the coffee table. I get just as enjoyable an experience with the V4L KR808 as I did with any my 510 or 901 equipment, and love the fact that it is so easy and fuss-free, five months after I started.

I couldn't agree more! I'd recommend getting the XL battery, because it lasts the longest(I get 6-8hrs of constant vaping on mine). Also, a PT, for when you're at your computer. As far as cartomizers and juice, I would recommend getting some of their pre-filled cartomizers, as you want your first experience with vaping to be as hassle free as possible. You can go to the list of approved suppliers and find the V4L forum to get an idea of which flavors are best. I wouldn't buy juice or try to fill cartos, right off the bat. Wait till you find a flavor you really like. BTW, I LOVE the Wow Peppermint:) Good luck!
