So why are the aspire kits not recommened so much?
I have the platinum and premium kits and I like them.
I just started vaping so I don't have anything else to compare them to.
WIth regards to your Aspire Platinum (and the CF SubΩ battery):
  • Mainly because there is no way to adjust your wattage/voltage (except to change your coil) and as you drain your battery your voltage drops as well. Works in large part like a mechanical (but with built in protection).
  • Most regulated devices have what's called "boost and buck" circuitry. That means it will boost the battery limit higher or buck it lower. It allows you to put in a freshly charged 4.2v battery in your devise (or use a fully charge internal battery) and vape at 6.4v or 3.7v. (or whatever volts are required to produce the watts you set it for in w/v mode).
  • As the battery drains the chip in the mod with continue to buck/boost the voltage to give you whatever wattage or voltage you have set.
  • In the case of boost, the chip in the mod takes in power from the battery and stores it in a capacitor. When the stored energy reaches the potential (voltage) it dumps out to the atty.
  • Works much like a dimmer switch.
