First of all, what criteria should be used to describe "BEST"?

Tanks are really very simple beasts of burden. Their primary job is to carry e-juice liquid on our batteries without leaking.

They in of themselves will not produce more vapor or throat hit. Pyrex glass, being a totally inert substance, will not add or change the flavor of the juice in any way, which is a good thing. Pyrex is also immune to the destructive reaction that some flavors have on polycarbonate plastic.

They can be manufactured to look rather handsome or pretty on our APV's. Some are actually one of a kind pieces of art. Some are somewhat easier to fill or assemble than others.

I have a personal bias against any tank that still uses polycarbonate plastic as the tube material. I feel that it is an inferior product; it is susceptible to certain flavors which will break down its chemical components to crack, melt or leach substances into the liquid.

A few sensitive individuals claim that they can taste the plastic when they vape. I find it amazing that some manufacturers of high end tanks can make beautifully machine-milled titanium and stainless steel endcaps, only to then add a cheap piece of clear polycarbonate plastic tubing to complete the tank. Tanks this fine need to wear pyrex tubes.

One can find $10 tanks that functionally work just as well as an $70 tank. Other than differing in the amount of human hands-on labor, how much do they really differ from one price extreme to the other?

So, what criteria do you use to call something THE BEST?

Pyrex and Quartz is it same?

no, very few differences, but pyrex "allegedly" handles heat better, i haven't found much difference though and have had no issues with either.

baditude summed it up fairly well....if you're looking for suggestions, in terms of glitz and glam hand blown tanks with 3d designs made entirely of pyrex, then phiniac is probably what you're after, but they can get pricey....if you want a high quality pyrex tank that won't break the bank, try out IBTanked, where you can get some of the glitz and glam, but it's mostly done with a paintbrush.

I'm going to have to say of the Pyrex tanks I've tried, I agree with Phiniac being the best. Besides being gorgeous and the ability to customize, I've beat the crap out of mine and not a scratch or crack. I've also never had one leak. Customer service is top notch as well. An all around high quality product in my opinion. :)

Well, after all my research I want to go with they pyrex for the reasons you mentioned above. So I should have said more specifically the beauty and no leaking factor is the 'best' I am looking for. I have received my first Phiniac tank and have another on the way from High Desert Vapes. I had read that even though you my find multiple tanks that are pyrex tanks that some are not as thick or durable on the walls. I have been learning on my own because I don't know anyone else that uses any vaping devices at all and there are no brick and mortar stores at all in my area to visit and get questions answered or actually put my hands on the merchandise. I was very excited to find this forum so I can talk to people like yourself that have more experience than myself. ;)

Tanks only job is to not leak, this is true but it is also nice to have piece of mind that it is gonna last and not break. Phiniac's are by far the toughest tanks out there IMO,but it is glass and glass can break. Watch the vids on there site

I watched the videos on Phiniac and they take a beating. I don't know about anyone else but if I dropped my GG or Provari I would be looking them over before the tank, ouch!

Do all tanks have the same inner diameter with only the length being the difference?
No, there is no standard for tube or endcap diameters (width). Most tubes are relatively uniform in being either one of two lengths (or height) and this conforms to the two most common lengths of cartomizers: 35mm and 45mm.

Sometimes you can get lucky and find a match between a tube from one manufacturer and some endcaps from another manufacturer. I was able to determine that a clear Phiniac tube would fit a Bella/Elegance tank from Hoosier Vapes. I also found a pyrex tube from Clouds of Vapor that can fit a Vaporfexion Pro-V tank.
