I wouldn't suggest dry burning Vivi Nova attys or any other pre-built factory made attys, I've had 2 attys shorted out that way, the only thing dry burning does is shorten the lifespan of the heating coil, to clean it just simply run it through hot water, rinse and dry, that's about the best you can do to it, eventually it'll die out so it's best to keep spares around.

Jett...Yes, i agree about the dry burning. Really don't like doing it either. I read somewhere that soaking the coil head in alcohol...but don't know if they mean drinking alcohol or medical rubbing alcohol. I looked at the coils with a magnifying glass and they are gunked up even after running it under warm water. Or is that just normal for them to look like that? I just want the coils cleaned of that gunk :)

you'll never get them totally clean of gunk sadly lol, that's why people sell replacement heads xD, and dependent on how heavy a vaper you are I would switch it out within 10-14 days, I wouldn't use it past that, I did that when I was using the Vivi Nova, note that I vape very heavily, so I usually just change it every 10 days or so, good thing is they aren't expensive. But I don't use them anymore, I've since moved to rebuildables, and changing the coil only costs about 40 cents lol, so I pretty much just change it every 5 days now? Or whenever I feel like it, once you've passed the initial phase of vaping and decide to go further, rebuildables is pretty much the way to go and what I would recommend to anyone.

Oh, and darker flavors causes coils to gunk faster, like that cappuccino flavor in your sig, coffee flavors are by far one of easiest liquids to gunk a coil up, when I was using my Vivi Nova I tried Mocha once and wow the sides of my wicks were black lol. I try to stay away from dark flavors, currently now my all day vape is either peach or watermelon, simple, nothing complicated.

Wash all pieces of the nova take the center post by itself while still wet blow through it slightly dry the wicks slightly. Attach it to the battery without the silicone cap start pulsing the on button 5 sec at a time. The area by the coil will still be wet. You will hear it sizzle then it will start smoking after a bit. Watch the coil this may take a couple min at most. When the coil glows red quit let it cool then rinse and dry wicks put it all back together. Fill and Let sit 5 min and vape. What you are doing is burning the gunk off the coil. My heads last at least 2 mos so far.

I did watch a few videos on youtube about how to rebuild them. I'm hoping to go there soon. Where do you get your watermelon juice and what ratio do you use? That sounds really good!

Try Backwoods Brew I had a friend break the formula, but its pretty much the same as the one from BwB they have some really good juices.

what i do to clean my novas is to switch out the head- after every one to two tanks on dark/really sweet juices, every two or three mayyybe four tanks on lighter/more basic flavored juices. i drop the head in a shot glass of 80 proof vodka (everclear/grain alc is better). then i fish out one of the heads thats already thats been soaking in there. i blot out the excess vodka and attach the head to a cleaned and dried tank. fill n vape.
also, in between tanks i dump out the last .3ml or so. that part tends to get sludgy and i feel like it gunks up the coil more than fresh full liquid does.

kemosabe...does it matter how long you leave it soaking in the vodka?

im not sure but ive often wondered that. ive got some heads in there that have been there for over a week. others just a few days. its hard for me to tell anymore, i just drop one in and pull one out when i need it. i hope prolonged exposure to the vodka isnt bad. i tend to think not. nothing bad has happend so far. but if anyone knows for sure, please inform me.
