What is the big deal about the 510?

So after using a smoke51 and epuffer ltv9 model for a few weeks, I ordered a 510 kit and a kr808D-1(which I believe is the same as the RN4081) kit from NHaler. The KR is a 2piece similar to the ltv9 and produces plenty of vapor.

What is the big deal about the 510? It has a reputation for producing plenty of vapor but I just can't seem to find it. Out of the box, the prefilled carts really suck. So I removed the old filler and did the PTB mod. I've done the tube version, as well as the shred. Nomatter what I do though, I can't seem to get much vapor and the cart seems to dry out after just 10 minutes of vaping, and then I get the nasty atty taste.

Can someone help me here? I love the look and feel of the 510, the manual batts are awesome and pcc owns. But i just can't get decent vapor or cart life (btw I'm using NHaler liquids which produce giant clouds in my other models)

Hello,

I too have a smoke51 and I just unpacked my 510 that i got in the mail literally 10 minutes ago. Fresh out of the box, it seems as tho the smoke51 out preformed the 510, however, I have been using the 510 for the past 10 minutes, and it really seems to be improving every time.

I've read that the atomizers on the 510 need a day or so to be broken in.

Right now I'm directly dripping onto the atomizer, roughly 3 drops, and it's doing good.

Don't give up on it.

I totally apologize for always being tardy on the responses, work sucks.

I found with my 510 that dripping 2-3 drops right on the atomizer provides a rocking amount of vapor. Also you can cut your juice 50/50 with Glycerin, which will significantly increase vapor output, but will dillute your juice. With the cutting method, you'll definitely want to purchase higher strength liquid based on your taste.

That's funny, I'm on exactly one week analog free too. And vaping makes it so much easier than trying to go cold turkey. It's only been a week without a cigarette and I can hang out with my smoker friends and not even want an analog, even while I'm not vaping. I've just completely lost interest in analogs, it's amazing.

I think I'm gonna try cutting my juice with VG. Truth is, I don't even want a lot of nic anyway. I would really prefer 0nic, but low nic is okay too. I think I'm way more addicted to the sensation of smoking than the nicotine.

On a side note, I wonder if the smoke51 carts are loaded with VG based liquid. The vapor from their carts seems to be a lot lighter and thicker than other juices I've tried. Could also just be the lower nic concentrate. Anyway, I'm gonna experiment with VG and see if it helps.

Biggest deal about 510 is the throat hit compared to some other models, atomizer gets hotter for a pv of that size, you can control everything with the liquid you put in. Enormous throat hit = 36 strength liquid for those special times, like drinking alcohol. The vapor is only huge at times when it really kicks in and gets warmed up, or freshly charged battery is used. I've got a handfull of them to choose from if one doesn't perform right. Out of 3 months, I've got 1 atty that is dying out on me, a slow death, or maybe needs to be cleaned I don't know. I never clean them and they have worked very strong for months no prob, very reliable. If they would just make a size up, slightly larger atty and battery, it would be even better still having a nice size and not being enormous. With all the hype about the 510, you would think they would cash in on that and market this big and make upgrades etc.

Yes, the atty needs a little time to break in. Also be sure to charge the battery as it says in the manual: 8 hours on, use for 20 minutes, then one hour. After that one hour should do it.

I have found that holding the 510 in a downward (near vertical position) helps alot. Also if the cart is nice and full you will get a great hit. If it is not so full, I take a lung hit, then a quick small mouth hit, to create the vapor.

As far as the tubes go, nothing worked for me except the q-tip tubes. But I use a flat cart rather than a round one so that may make a difference.

I am getting close to quitting regular cigarettes. I already prefer the 510. Just need to get the dose right and keep my batteries well charged.

Good luck. I am new, so this is just my recent experience after returning the Blu and getting the 510.

I guess my problem is that I'm looking more for big vapor than throat hit. Currently using 12mg nhaler high voltage. I'm gonna try cutting it with some vg today and see if that helps. I also hate repeatedly topping off, especially when I take my pv on the road. Maybe this just isn't the best model for me. Im gonna keep trying with it because I love the form factor and I think manual batteries are a real improvement.

On a side note, wouldn't it have made a lot more sense to design the wick to extend down to the bottom of the cartridge. I feel like that would eliminate the problem of the cart ending up dry at the top but still wet at the bottom. Just my 2 cents.

A quick update...

I picked up a bottle of VG from whole foods(it was with hair care stuff) and a couple of dropper bottles at cvs(hard as hell to find, had to ask the pharmacist)

So I started mixing about 50/50 VG with my nhaler 12ml juices. Now I'm getting the huge vapor I want with lower nic, which I also want. VG IMO is definitely the way to go. The only downside is that the flavor isn't as strong, but I can live with that.

I'm pretty sure at this point that smoke51 cartomizers are loaded with VG juice. It just produces those nice big fluffy clouds of vapor that I love. Anyone have any advice on vendors that sell high quality VG juice, preferably in 0 or low nic?
