So if I'm starting out with absolutely no supplies, but with a little vaping experience, what should I get to start out? how many attys, what kind of attys, what kind of drip tips, etc? I am a heavy vaper, the device does not leave my hand ever. I'm just so confused with all the different attys.

mAh is milliamp hours, the total current capacity of the battery. Higher mAh = longer runtime between charges for a given voltage of battery.

Joye eGo is the original fat battery 510, started at 650 mAh have since come out with multiple other, even larger, batteries. They manufacture for several other resellers, rebadged.

Riva is a "knockoff" of an eGo, made by Hello (could have the name wrong). They started with a 750 mAh rated battery, now also have higher capacity ones.

The base Riva vs. the base eGo are pretty similar. I believe the color accents are different (my Riva has gold on the end of the battery, think I've heard eGo uses silver color), and Riva has a silicone/rubbery manual button vs. eGo having a hard plastic button.

Though sourced by two different companies, the Riva and eGo seems pretty similar performance-wise, both have regulated voltage output (I believe 3.1V regulated output under load.) Not sure what the actual lithium batteries are -- they may even be the same, with the 650 vs 750 mAh just being spec games.

My Rivas run a good half dozen hours under moderately heavy use with 2 ohm cartos, and 1 battery lasts a full work day when I'm alternating the Riva with a passthrough at my computer.

The Riva and eGo both use fast chargers (not OK to use on the smaller standard 510 batteries), which recharge in just a couple hours.

No suggestions on atties -- I'm a confirmed carto person, still use my 808 gear (especially passthroughs) a lot. I don't like carts, dripping, anything that takes frequent maintenance. I'd really love a Boge 2 ohm carto for the 510 in 2 ml size, haven't noticed one yet.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
i bought my original eGo starter kit from Nicotine Nirvana in July. everything still going strong. added a 900mah battery from litecigusa, cylindrical eGo mega cartridges and cylindrical eGo mega atomizers from either Cignot or litecigusa, and rotate between two batteries (650 and 900). i have tried my eGo mega cartomizers but the draw is very airy and i dont get the very strong fullstrength juice flavor from them no matter how hard i try to fill them (its hard cuz you cant SEE the filler...at least with the cartridge you can see it saturated). i never clean my atomizers. i never change out my filler-not even when i switch flavors...yeah lazy...but the new flavor eventually overpowers whatever was in there before. most of my flavors are cinnamon based anyway (Fire & Ice by VaporBomb, CinnaBomb by VaporBomb, and Cinnamon Pear by Breezesmokes). i also once in a while vape Black Licorice by Tasty Vapor..

Where did you all get your eGos from? I am considering buying from either puresmoker or jantyusa. Jantyusa has a much beefier kit for more cash, but they offer like 4 different kinds of atomizers, not including LRs: there's the Dura-eGo atty (which i assume is the standard 510), Dura-eGo MEGA atty, eGo XL cone, and eGo XL round. Each atty (i believe) has a specific cart to go along with it. This is very very confusing, especially considering the kit comes with two drip tips...will they work on all of these attys? I'm so confused! one of the biggest problems with e-cigs is all the name-changing.

Maybe you should check out the GG by Golden Greek I think it's called. You can get an auto feeding system (afs) that you fill probably once a day. Expensive, but it looks like a cure for your wants.

Yeah I've heard of the gg I think I'm done with mods in general. Had a prodigy that just stopped working on me, and a juicebox that never worked. Unfortunately I think I threw out all of my previous e-cig devices and juices in a fit of rage...bummer.

I'm just very overwhelmed by the whole e-cig culture, on top of the fact that I'm broke. I want to get an ego in prep for the tank system, but it doesn't matter where I shop, my cart ends up in the $120-$160 range, and I'm just so hesitant because of my last go round.

just purchased a riva from liberty-flights. I immediately have buyer's remorse, but hopefully it will blow my mind. decided to screw the XL attys, got a few 510 LRs and regulars, and about 90 ML of juice, both VG and PG. Drip tip to experiment with when I'm at home and can have the luxury of dripping in private. this tank system better be f@#$%ing unbelievable.

btw, for those who are interested, apparently the tank system is already available here . its pretty expensive, and I'm not seeing many reviews on it yet, which makes me definitely want to wait until the attys and carts are available individually at a well-established online store. If anyone has seen any reviews, as this is the reason I bought the Riva in the first place, let me know!

Won't buy the kits, already have five Riva's stashed. Currently use ego MEGA cartos, but will prolly spend a bunch on a stack of new TANK atty's and carts when they show up.

So the Riva kit arrived last night, charged the XL battery over night (gonna have to get an extra charger with my next pv purchase) and so far its performing well, struggling with breaking in the attys and getting the flavor, TH, and vapor production that I remember from the normal 510 kit I started with. I have had a problem of the button sticking twice, but I just turned the button clockwise and haven't had it since.

After about two hours of use, I must say I am unimpressed as of now probably due to the breaking in of the attys, but I'm not getting any kind of real throat hit like I used to on the regular 510 device (I am using PG and VG juice; the PG sort of burns in an unpleasant way and doesn't taste good, the VG has very little flavor and no throat hit at all, but produces more vapor). I am going to try to break in my LR attys later today most likely, and I've got XL cartos on the way, so hopefully this makes me fall in love again.

Can't wait for that tank system...

I have an eGo Mega (900 mah battery, mega atty and mega cart) and love it. Although I used to smoke 2.5 packs a day, the batteries are lasting about 16-18 hours, and the mega cart is lasting about 10-12. And it is simple to refill the mega cart, just direct drip it in.

I ordered some Mega (or XL, don't know which kind and don't know the difference) cartos, and was thinking about getting some mega attys and carts but 1. waaaaay too expensive and 2. I never really liked carts when I used to vape; too messy, and after a couple refills the filler material barely holds any liquid, so I'm topping off as often as I would drip. I just filled up a normal cart with a normal 510 atty on my Riva and after around 10 drags I got that "too dry" taste. Looked into the cart and saw there was still liquid inside, pulled out the filler and realized there was still A LOT of juice inside...might as well use a drip tip (which I have been doing ever since). I'm hoping the cartos don't have the same problem.
