What is the difference from a 5 dollar tank, and a 25 dollar tank?

That is very subjective. Some its looks. Tank size. Manufacturing cost. For example these tanks. Carto Tank Mods Sell for 8$ but work just as well as the more expensive one i tried.

actually those tanks sell for $5! The $8 price is to include a prepunched carto. :) I haven't tried any of the more expensive tanks. I wasn't willing to pay that much so I have no idea how they work compared to the $5 chibi tank. I can't imagine that they work any better though. And the grommets are easily and cheaply replaceable.

I would imagine that the price of some of the more expensive tanks will have to come down now that there are much more affordable products. BUT there are still some out there who believe the higher the cost, the better the product. That's not always true and I'm pretty sure (I say "pretty" because I've not tried the more expensive tanks) that this isn't the case with tanks.

The term "you get what you pay for" applies in many areas but I don't think it applies here. Inexpensive tanks are just starting to come out and the chibi tank has nothing to be ashamed of in the looks department (or in the performance dept either). There's nothing wrong with someone paying $25+ for an expensive tank if that is what he/she wants. If it worked and was the only option out there and couldn't be made for less, I'd pay that much. (I'm just glad I don't have to)

I think most of us here are more interested in something that is inexpensive and works well. When people slowly discover that a $5 tank works just as well (and looks just as good) as a $25 tank.. they will start to switch over.

The Chibi's are an excellent cheap tank, but I was just sitting here and figuring, you can get the tubing and grommets at Amazon, and make the exact same thing for about $.65 each, not counting shipping of materials. I like to fiddle, and make stuff myself, so I will be doing that.

I've already ordered the parts! they should be here early next week! (with shipping, the cost comes to about .92 each)

Definately a Chibi for those non fiddlers. :) If it weren't for the Chibi and the Ghetto, I don't know if I would have gone with tanks. The syringe tanks were ok, just never took to em for some reason.

I dont like to Fiddle at all. Which is why i liked the chibi. Out of all the tanks i tried it was one of the least i had to fiddle with to keep it working good.

...the easy answer is...20bux...some of the more expensive ones were out first and their rarity drove up cost...some of them are made from better quality materials(doesn't mean they work any better or last any longer)...I think, as the chibi and smoktek offerings gain popularity, we will see tanks of all kinds come down in price...for me, I just ordered 3' of polycarb tubing and a box of vinyl grommets from Amazon to make my own version of the chibi...for about 20bux, I should get 15 orso tanks...throw in a carto and I can say I built 'em myself for around 3bux/per.......

p.s. I also have a couple of skinny 3ml diabetic syringes I am going to rob the plunger rubbers off of and make a fill port in a couple to see how that works.......mj

p.s.s. I got the links from other threads and cannot attest to how well any of it will work...YMMV and Caveat Emptor.............mj

Those are the same supplies that I ordered. while I do like to make my own stuff.. I'm not going to post instructions (and I hope others don't either) over on the general forum.. I like to see that the parksvaping guys get plenty of business and I don't want to ruin that. they sell the tanks so cheap they're really not worth buying tubing. I don't need 20 tanks but I have a couple friends who rely on me for their vaping needs (they don't do much online ordering) so I'm making some for them or else I wouldn't go to the trouble, I'd just get replacement grommets.

I don't feel bad about copying someone's idea and making my own (in the privacy of my own home) but I do feel bad for posting about it and maybe taking business away from someone. If these things were $25 or so I wouldn't think twice but they're so affordable that I do think twice. I've heavily advertised this product here and on the general forum and I hope I've brought them some business.

I too saw the instructions for the syringe tanks but back then I didn't know exactly how tanks worked or if I would like them. Even if they are cheap to make.. it seemed too much trouble to me. If I hadn't seen talk about the chibi, I wouldn't probably still be "tankless" LoL
