Thank you for your responses Kent C! I do really appreciate your input. I probably should have titled the thread differently. I'm a terrible communicator, particularly through writing.

I have to say I'm back at square one. I'm now thinking of a re-branded 510 just so things can be easy for him. I'm starting to think maybe he needs a Volcano Magma or a Revolver Gemini. (makes me Cringe) They both seem to sell pre-filled carts.

You communicated well enough. Sometimes it takes a few questions or comments to get to where you want to go.

Not sure why people are knocking it. I think the KR808 is the BEST e-cig out there, and the cartomizers are second to none.

I think a lot of people just love to drip all day so they have something to do.

I have found V4L cartomizers t be very consistent, affordable, and come in a zillion flavors and strengths. PLUS they ship super fast.

I have bought MANY kits for friends and family and the only ones that stick to it are the ones with the KR808.

I have an eGo (Super Tornado 1000mah ) but STILL use 808 cartomizers with an adapter. I think 510 cartomizers are garbage. NO vapor, and get REALLY HOT. yes, I have used boge and SLB.

Ease of use, good vapor, and lots of strengths and flavors V4L can not be beat.

I agree with oettinger. I love my 808! If your friend goes with the 808 I would recommend he buy the new cool cartomizers (e.g. V9's Turbos). The new cooler cartos have made a huge difference with TH, vapor production and longevity. I also would recommend your friend gets a manual battery and a manual PT! ...For me they are better than the Autos.

I bought the KR8 for hubby for same reason had to make it easy for him to quit smoking. He refused at first but then about a week later he was vaping! He does not refill, I do he throws all the empties into the bowl on the counter and at the end of the week. I refill all HIS cartos. It is a cycle maybe you could refill some cartos for your friend 1x a week and then he would finally start doing it himself. As far as my hubby I dont think he will ever refill but then again he told me he heard e cigs are a waste of money and they dont work but guess who hasnt smoked for 3 weeks HIM.The KR8 is the easiest for someone who doesnt want to spend the time to refill.

I don't enjoy refilling that much(HAHA). I only do it for my hubby because he finally agreed to try to quit and I dont want to hear excuses about how he HAD to smoke a cig he was outta carts. Refilling only 7 cartos aweek takes about 15 min. so the time isnt that bad and is way cheaper and takes less time than going to the store for the 1 pack of smokes a day.

I cringe to say this,....... but if he truely doesnt care about cost, then green smoke is a good. It
produces a ton of good vapor and the flavors are good. They are limited to a few flavors
but they dont have the undertone perfumey thing in them.

I usually give newbies a choice as I have a few pcs and after trying them
the 510, kr808, 901 , and 801 I have had many say they liked the green smoke (not green cig) the best,
however the cost is a stopper for most and they go kr808 if that style is what they like.

It is expensive , at least to me it is. However it may do the job for him if he can afford it,

lets I've now bought and tried a 510, an eGo, a KR808 (from V4L), and a mod...

I've gotta say that the KR808 has been the absolute worst of the bunch....

the underlying perfume taste to 3/4 of the V4L cartos....the inconsistency of vapor from one flavor to the next....the inconsistency in battery build from one week to the next (oh yeah surprise they're changing their auto batteries again (and they'll be sound activated so the same problem your friend was having with his blu))...
the turbo cartos from vapornine made them slightly less intolerable..but they arent available in many flavors...so you'd be into refilling or filling blanks...
the only use for the KR8 batteries was to put an adapter on them and use 510 atties..

OP - unfortunately you will never get a consensus on any one make or model for this type of question.
'

Actually there is a consensus from polls and just a general scanning of comments on the general and new members forum - the 510 wins that hands down. You won't get unanimity, I agree, and in this case, from what Bert says, the guy should get prefilled cartoz and throw them away when empty as they were originally intended.

I guess it's like Chevys and Fords - it is what it is - I love my 808 - especially with the new cool cartos available. In my opinion its the best model for someone to start vaping. Trust me I do not want to get into a debate about which one is better (i've had a stressful day)... the kr808 is a good model - simple as that.

Same here.... on debate - and were there no 510 kits (not talking eGos, mods, etc.) I'd get a KR8 batt with a 901 atty. And I'd use some blank cartoz.

I know you didn't say this but the comment on 'no vapor' on the 510 - someone is doing something very wrong. There's just too many people that get great vapor from the 510 atty almost regardless of what batt they put it on and some KR8 batts can light it up even more. I think the Joye atty is better and more consistent but even with the SLB and Boge good vapor isn't the problem, unless you simply got a bad atty. It happens. I had a bad 280mAh KR8 but they aren't all bad - it's a good battery. The 510 mega batt is better than the regular batt (just like with the KR8) and the eGo/tornado batt better than the mega and a mod batt better yet. I hope for KR8 fans, that the Elegant performs for them like the eGo does for the 510ers, and the early reports on that are good.
