genesis style, the kraken. dripper, I hear good things about the sm20 style, and they are cheap. I don't know the first thing about bottom coils but I hear they're pretty easy to build

edit: I only run cotton in my gennys. If you want to run mesh in one, I hear the rsst is the easiest.

They are easy to build but in the kayfun 3.1 not much room. For a newbie I would suggest a dripper like the Nimbus clone or Trident clone. Both under $20 on eBay.

I just got a IGO-L clone because I wanted to try a RDA on the cheap. Got an ASTRO 4269 to hold the battery. Efest 1600 B.I.O battery is said to be safe and reliable according to my local vape shop - they all use them. Good setup for me and I recommend buying locally as they put it together for me in the store. The first IGO broke upon assembly so I was glad I was in the store for the initial setup. Whole thing was less than $100 including charger.

I would LOVE to be able to support my local shops. Unfortunately, they are all geared towards the entry level vapers (ego batteries, maybe a Protank, etc). If you want anything else, it is online!

Me and a couple of other guys are starting a vape group here. We've gotten good response from a couple of the local shops. Hopefully, with some education, we can start getting better stuff in the shops!

I would recommend the Smoktech RSST if you are looking for a rebuildable tank. I have 3 of them & they work great. The hole for the wick is insulated & much easier if you are going to use a mesh wick. The hole is also large enough to put in a ceramic wick without drilling it out.

I have several rebuildable tanks & the RSST is the easiest to learn on.

Try the Smok Pyrex RSST RBA.... it's glass so you can use and juice you like and also very easy to build.

I second the pyrex RSST. Easy build with anything but I like the mesh. I tried SS rope and the rope holds too much heat. It has a top fill port with plug, spring loaded center pin and Phillips bottom pin. Plus, you can take the center pin out and wind right on the wick with no obstructions. The stock air hole is a little tight but not bad at all.

Also the wick hole is insulated so the coil gets hot from both ends.

I started with a mini rda and it was a pain! lol But after awhile it got easier for me and now I'm able to do it anytime. I finally did a kayfun build after 10 trys just couldn't get the wire to stay under the screws. I think the setups with holes are much eaiser to start with. I would do something that has holes and don't have a deep well to it would be best for you to try. Make sure you have an ohm reader tho!
