What is the max watts or a max volts I can run?

For example on a run of the mill dual coil 2.5 ohm carto, is there a limit to how much power I can give it? Short of too much and burning your juice or melt the guts? What is the max before that generally happens with a carto, rba with cotton or wick? What is your sweet spot?

Keep in mind, this is only a reference chart.

If you're sticking to cartos, I wouldn't recommend more than 15W. Cartos can't wick juice to the coils fast enough for high power builds and so that's where you get a burning flavor. Plus pushing too much power through a carto that isn't being cooled by the e-liquid fast enough will result in burned out cartos really quick.

If you want to run more power, RDAs are the way to go. You're really only limited by how effective your wicks are. And if you bust a coil from heat (which is unlikely), you can build another one for a few cents worth of wire and like 10 minutes of your time.

I currently push about 45W on my current set up, but I've gone as high as 60W without a burning taste. This is with an RDA, parallel coils, and lots of cotton.

Of course, once you get to these high power setups, e-liquid consumption will go through the roof. Space Jam juice isn't cheap, and I could go through 30ml of liquid every 4 days if I'm not watching my consumption.

I have always looked at it the other way around, what is the lowest power setting this topper will work properly? (getting the longest charge life out of the battery) Then I slowly work the power up until I get the vape I want.

That way I charge the battery less often, and my coils last months instead of days.

Personal opinion of course, but dual coil cartos are a waste of time. Single coil cartos work so much better. (and yes, I still use cartos part of the time)
3 ohm single coil at 4.2-4.5v. (around 7 watts). You would need to run a DC carto at about half again the wattage.

What set up are you using that the coils last "months"? I want that setup!!!

I get about a month out of a single coil 3 ohm Boge carto with a clear liquid at 4.5v.
3 months out of a 2-2.2 ohm coil wrapped around 4 strands of 0.8mm silica in an A7 RDA on a mechanical mod.
and about 4 months out of a 1.25-1.5 ohm coil wrapped around one strand of 3mm silica (ecowoll) in a kayFun at 9 watts.

    All three used every day.

The power (watt) limit is where the vape becomes burnt. Pick a start point and go up slowly from there until you either get the vape you want or you get burnt hits. With single coil clearos I start around 6 watts. With single coil cartos around 8 watts. Cartos will go a lot higher than clearos. I have not used dual coil in either of these.

With rebuildable tanks it all depends on the atty and the way you have it set up. The best rebuildable dripping atty (RDA) for high power use can be set up higher than the best RBA for that use and 100 + watts is possible.

Typically, the only way you are going to melt a coil or anything in an atty is if you fire a very dry wick.
