So far I have purchased 8 of these clearos, and this same thing has happened on 2 of them (so far). I went to refill one and the liquid was oozing out the top; that's when I noticed an O ring floating at the top. I couldn't re-seat it, so I just pulled it out with my tweezers. Both clearos I've done this to still work fine as long as I don't overfill them.

I admit I did try to pull the metal ring from the tank, but I couldn't get it to budge. Guess I'm lucky I didn't break the tank doing that.

Edited to Add: I forgot to say, I also had gurgling -- I added an extra O-ring to the tip which seemed to take care of the gurgling.

With the mouthpiece screwed on, if you hold the tank with one hand and pull up on the mouthpiece with other hand while wiggling it back and forth, the metal ring will come off.

Edit : IMHO if they glued the metal ring onto the tank, it would fix this problem.

thank you for your answers...as its my first clearo I had nothing to compare too...when the other ones arrive il...try to get that metal ring off.....cheers deb

It looks to me that taking the metal ring off loosens it up a little. You shouldn't do this unless you really need to.

I think the o-ring you're talking about is the seal between the plastic tank and the metal ring at the top. To replace it you would have to pull the metal ring off the tank. I've never done that before, but it should be possible.

J.R.

Great idea J.R., if it was possible...but after investigating the placement of this silicon, it looks more like a liquid silicon seal than an actual o-ring, the one I just opened had a "glob" of silicon that protruded out into the opening - it was doomed from the get go!

I'm looking at an X2 clearo with the metal ring off right now. It is an o-ring in there. Your's probably got squeezed too much. If you're not going to send it back to S.I., you should try to glue it with Super Glue like I posted on Philly's thread. Make sure you clean both pieces first, and push the metal ring all the way down before the glue dries. What do you have to lose?

J.R.

Edit - Don't leave the mouthpiece screwed into the metal ring while you glue it.

You are probably right J.R., the other one looked just like a regular ring, more like a flat washer, the one I spoke about was just a defective washer - I did submit a ticket with SI, I bought six of these with that order and haven't opened the other four yet, it's a bit more of an expense seeing that they are brand new. Now if I had this happen to one which was older I wouldn't have a problem.

Thanks for your info, I do appreciate it. :)

I just today had another clearo lose the seal -- so far I believe these have all come from the latest batch I ordered & received a week or so ago. This makes 3 for me, but none of them are leaking, so I wonder if this seal is even needed?

Sorry that you seem to be having the same problem others are, Moonstruck. You are lucky that yours haven't been leaking, mine are constantly gurgling and with each vape had to disconnect and wipe the battery.

I would send them back too. The unopened ones might be bad too.

I read on another thread that a woman got a bad batch of T3 replacement coils. One didn't even have threads! The bad thing is that she lives in another country and it would cost her more to ship them back than they cost in the first place.
