That's not even fair, in 2009 I didn't even have my lung xray yet! Talk about ahead of the curve, that little box mod looks like it could have been made in 2015.

In 2009 I hadn't even yet seen Katherine Heigl on Letterman with her cigalike! That was my first ever sight or knowledge of e-cigs.

Other than Blu I didn't know what they looked like until I walked into that first vape shop to get one. I saw the employee with his mech and said, "OMG! That's what they look like???".

I was just thinking no way am I hauling that thing around! Well, guess what, a few months later...

Yeah vaping has really taught me the wisdom of "never say never".
Never thought I'd quit smoking. Wrong.
Never thought I'd build coils. Wrong.
Never thought I'd use anything but tobacco flavors. Wrong.
Never thought I'd use a box mod. Wrong.

For a while I thought "I'll never quit vaping." But now I'm thinking.. well maybe, someday. Guess it COULD happen...

Stacked cells. Assuming around 14.8v +. Seems to be 4 cells in series wrapped in a single bundle. Not sure what would need about 15V though. Laptop cell maybe?

Well it's obviously a group of button cell batteries that are stacked and wrapped to yield a larger volt battery.

I believe its part of the battery pack either out of a laptop.................. or a Roomba robot vacuum.

I actually did this battery hack and used the batts in my pedometers, which use batts like crazy:
