If I like something I tend to double, triple and even quadruple my arsenal, authentic kit if possible/available, but also clones.

Many on this forum do the same methinks, a mix of, collectors, *paranoid*-vapocalypsers, obsessions & ofc bling and dat swag.
So, never a need for a backup really ;)

Not necessarily "backup", but redundancy. From an IT perspective, this is known as load balancing and fail over.

And, if these were to go down, I have others.

Heh, you guys are going to hate me for saying this, but my backup equipment is my old ego style pen and a protank 3 mini

No worries. As long as you have some gear to fall back on other than a pack of smokes, it's all good!

I rotate among iSticks (30 & 50) and iPV Mini/Mini2. I have (as @inswva phrases it) "redundancy" with my tanks (I tend to buy multiples of something, if it was decently priced and I like it.) Still have one of my VV3s and MVP2s and an eGo Twist along with all my EVOD tanks. Picked up a mech a couple of months ago - mostly for vapocalypse purposes.

Don't really have backups per se. I have six mods with six tanks on them, all loaded up with different juice.

white Subox Mini
evic-VT with Atlantis 2
SX Mini with Subtank Mini
rDNA40 with Atlantis 2
IPV4 with Subtank Mini
MVP 3 Pro with Atlantis 1

My "backups" (the one that are available but not currently in use) is an iStick 50 and an Aspire CF Subohm battery.

There is no need for a backup to be the fanciest or best vape on the planet. It just needs to work if all else fails.

In the past I found that when I'm sorting out something new, or trying to fix something that went south, I was best served by having a no hassle simple vape handy.

So I pretty much use the same philosophy for both.
Which is most likely just a 2 ohm carto tank sitting on top of a 3.7v battery.

I have a small collection of discounted and outdated low wattage tube mods.

I bought an overpriced SMOKTech SID at a B&M to get started.

Decided I liked the form factor. Bought 2 more on clearance. One, from 3AVape, I suspect is a counterfeit but it still works.

Then I got a Sigelei ZMax V5 on clearance.

Then, on AndriaD's advisement, I got a SMOK Galileo & 2 Kicks on clearance. (So I could say I had a mech and was ready for vape-ocalypse)

For variety, I got a Cloupor Mini off our classifieds.

And today, I ordered four Sigelei ZMax V1's on clearance for the ridiculous price of $5 each.

With now 9 "backups, I'm just a little disappointed that unit number 1 just refuses to break! :|

All the others are tested, stored and lonely.

One of the V1's will go in the work truck glove box and, if I ever get around to learning about my Lemo, it will go on the Mini as my desktop web-surfing mod.

I have a number of mechanical mods, there's usually one hanging around if I should happen to need it. My main tanks are Foggers, but I have several Kayfun types, too, and I just ordered a Lemo, even though I prefer dual coils. I'm looking to find The Proverbial World's Greatest Top Fill RTA Tank. (I'll probably have to build it.) I also use an iTaste VTR VV/VW mod with an iClear 30s tank set; the shrouded tank is handy for carrying in the pocket, albeit I think the vape a tad anemic at 15w. And I carry a charged up iTaste VV 3.0 in the car kit, with a Kanger pro-tank and some spare coils, just in case. I have an iTaste SVD VV/VW mod, a number of eGo VV batteries and all kinds of replaceable-coil tanks-- Kangers, Anyvape Davide's, at least one Aspire-- I started with. I suppose I should put them up in the classifieds. It's all good gear, and I paid full retail for brand names. It's just not where my vape is any more. But somebody who likes being in that area could get good use from them.
