As a former chain smoker of 3+ packs per day, I just couldn't get with the cooler vape of the bottom coil systems....Tried a few of the popular top coil systems with mixed results and then my wife randomly bought both of us Vivi Nova's/dual coil / big tank, and we've never looked back..... -Dave

I recently got a couple Vapeonly Aspire BDCCs, which I found to have a warm vape very similar to the Vivi Nova.

One of the Aspire sub-models happens to be called the Vivi Nova (e.g. Vapeonly - Aspire 3.5ml VIVI NOVA-S Glass BDCC Kit (Bottom Dual Coil Clearomizer)). So now there's the Vision Vivi Nova topcoil clearo and the Vapeonly Aspire Vivi Nova bottom dual coil clearo, plus all the VN knock-offs, and a lot of people new to vaping must be pulling their hair out trying to figure out the differences.

I wish the marketing people at these companies would pick up their game and start using less confusing names.

I've used a Vivi Nova a Protank 2 and an iClear 30 (not the newer versions. I seem to prefer the iClear 30 although the Protank 2 is real nice, just a bit different. The iClear is a bit quicker to reloaded since popping the top is real easy. I like the Protank because it is possible to replace/swap-out the atomizer without emptying the tank.

edit: hawaiivpr, ive got a 30s as well. im still on the fence with it - it adds a strange flavor to my juice. perhaps its the metal tip. how long did yours take to break in?

I wasn't thrilled initially, the lighter draw and taste was the only thing I noticed at first. It wasn't long until once the coils were fully soaked did I start getting all the flavor, more than the original iclear30. I use my own tip, but the one included wasn't bad (was the straight, tapered one, not the swivel style)

I used to always fire the iclear30S at 9.5W on my MVP2, but since I changed juices, had to bring it down to 8.5W. I guess some flavors do better warmer, some not.

If the clearomizer is running the Aspire bottom dual coil that would be my first vote...
and running a very strong and great 2nd place is the new Innokin's 16 B running their Bottom Dual coil...

Instead of stacked on top of one another cutting off oxygen... even to the users...
Both of these dual coils Aspire and Innokin's... are intersecting... (crossed) Aspires enclosed BDC's are in a small chamber
Both...their designs allow a much better flow of e-liquids to be shared with the coils and transfered up the chimney
to the users... thus allowing for a much better vaporization that increases flavor... and depending on amounts of vg/pg to allow vapors/clouds

I use Protanks as well. I have a PT2 and two PT2 mini's. I run them all with the 1.8ohm coils which surprising all measure 2.1ohm They all seem to be slightly more resistance than labeled the 2.5ohm coils run 2.7ohm. All stock from the package.

I run the 1.8ohm coils on a Zmax mini at somewhere between 7-8 watts depending on the juice and if I am chain vaping it. If I get serious about it I have to keep the wattage lower or it ends up burning the juice. Pretty much all my juices are 50/50 and currently I am vaping some pink starburst. It's great at 8 watts!
