This is my other daily mod, the Dicodes Dani box.

Both the DNA and the Dicodes devices have a total cycles counter (non-resettable) and a partial cycles counter (resettable).
Plus, there are various energy counters, and Dicodes also have a resettable battery capacity counter, good to verify the battery capacity.

Other mods have hit (puff) counters, but are of dubious use, as - in the case of the Cube - they reset when mod is turned off, or battery replaced - in some others.

Keep in mind that the "puff counter" in its original implementation (recall the Innokin MVP and eLeaf iStick) was meant in view of the Eastern attitudes with bodily performances; therefore not readily understood here.

There is a smok devices feature, the "puff limiter" - which you set to a number, and the mod stops working afterward. You must reset it manually if you want to keep vaping.

To me, it would have made sense if the puff limiter would reset at midnight - but they removed the clock from mods after Gpriv1, so this limiter feature remains unexplained.

To me, it come useful the recording functions of the DNA devices, to study the different options for coils, wicks and temperature; but not the hit counter specifically.

The non-resettable counter would theoretically be useful to establish wear-and-tear of a second-hand mod, but such a market doesn't really exist.

The hit counter is mostly an useless feature on the majority of vape devices.

My hit count is pretty low. I mighta smacked around a sibling or two if they really PO'd me. I smacked the kid once, but he was a toddler heading for a 6 lane road, and I needed him to learn doing that brings DEATH. I think I was more freaked out than he was actually.

Other than than, nah. I don't like hitting.

This is getting kind of like odometer boasting.

My longest odometer was like, infinity because it did not work. Big, boxy volvo.

Hyundai second in line. I was around 220K on that one but to be fair the husband drove it for a bit. I was kind of shocked honestly and it did have like, different panels in different colors and stuff. But that thing just would not quit. Until I was T-boned in an accident. Not my fault. My cars have surprising longevity but that's what you get when you only are in slow moving accidents.

Here and back
Hello everyone.

I don"t have many mods but on this Armour Pro, after reseting a couple of times already, the hit count is already pretty high. It reads 18125 hits on this new reading.

My Wismec is also reaching the 5k mark.

How many hits do you have registered on your mods?
You're looking at it wrong. Just vape when you need to. Sometimes you'll find yourself in a different room an haven't vaped for hours.

It's a luxury to vape when you want, but not a must. On an as need basis.

I use the puff counter when comparing batteries, so not useless here.

That’s the same thing I use mine for in terms of using it for an actual tool. Other than that though I really like having one to gauge my usage over the long term, it really adds up. The mod I have goes to 9,999 and then holds there until reset but I really wish it had xxx,xxx because I don’t remember how many times I’ve reset it and sometimes I don’t notice it has topped out.

It has to be playing off my OCD gene somehow but even though some would argue it isn’t crucial, I really like having it there and if it came down to it and I was deciding between two comparable mods the fact one had a counter and the other didn’t could very well become a deciding factor.

It’s funny because I get it’s not really important but I really, really like that it’s there.:thumb:

My Wismec RX75 had crossed 100K when it got dropped in a bonfire. It's the only device I've used regularly that had a puff counter.

I got more of them.
Poor mod, mods+bonfires=nonono. If it makes you feel better, I killed a glass tank riverwalking awhile back. Sad as that's all I had with me and was 4 hours from home.

The most useless thing on a mod is "puff counter" (for me... not judging anyone else)
Just wanted to say, "hit" is maybe the wrong thing to say (because of recent events) Please use the term "puff counter". I'm in California, and forgive me, but I really need a "hit" right now!
But, you made a really good point about buying used stuff... good thing to know.

I don't buy mods because they have a puff counter. They just happen to have one. I agree it is pretty useless, but hey, it has one.. so why not check.
