I've been vaping about a year and a half now and for the most part the biggest challenge has been consistency, i find a good setup and it is good for a couple of days then it becomes ....ty and I find myself buying new coils and replacing them every 2-3 days which has become a pain until I recently started rebuilding my protank 2 that seems to be working fine for me now but I wonder what is the most reliable setup you guys have found?

Well everyone will have a different opinion here - mine is I got to almost fiddle free with MVP2+ cartotank and then I ordered Reo + RM2 and found nirvana. I find both set ups amazing, consistent and reliable - if its in the budget Reo is the winner, if not MVP2 with a good tank comes really darn close!

If I had to hurry out the door right now, I'd bring with me the Provari mini with a PT2, a bottle of juice, and maybe a couple of extra atomizer heads (stock or rebuilt). There are probably many toppers out there that are more reliable than the PT2, but this is what I have right now. My Squid RDA is also reliable, but having to drip all the time is not always practical.

When i first bought a carto tank I didn't realize that even when I ordered the cartomizers pre punched they weren't providing enough juice because the holes were too small, so i was very frustrated about this since i kept getting dry hits and wasting all my juice. I now understand I should open up bigger holes on the carto using a carto puncher or something similar but I havent ventured with that again.

You can make that more simple - I ended up buying laser slotted cartos- like the LR Boges over at kidneypuncher. I really got to a point where I had to get things simplified LOL. And - punching cartos yourself - to me - kinda sucks. It isnt hard per se, just a pain! LOL

Most reliable? After going though years of buying and trying it has to be any Reo with any device you care to put on top of it. Stock attys or cartos last longer, and if you want to skip over those build your own coils on the Reomizer or a couple other RDA's designed to work with it. Far, far easier to rebuild than a PT coil. Since it's liquid feed and the bottle of liquid is contained in the Reo itself there is nothing exposed to break.

If you get the aluminum body Reo's you won't find much of anything as indestructible. Completely rebuildable - not that it's likely to ever need it.

My wife's rig. Designed specifically to be ultra-reliable.

She only vapes straight menthol, nothing else, so flavor isn't really an issue. Since I didn't have to worry about flavor, I went with the absolute most reliable setup possible.

Mech mod with an iClear 30 clearo on top.

She's getting 2-4 months of use out of a single coil. With the 2900 mAh battery she's going 3 days on a single battery charge. She vapes about 3ml per day, so she only has to refill the tank once per day.

Beyond that, it's as close as you can get to being failure free. Extremely strong and durable, virtually no parts to break, no electronics to fail, no leaking tanks, no problems at all. She wanted a reliable, trouble free, and hassle free rig and I don't think there is a more reliable option than what I've handed her.

My first e-cig was an eGo-T. Folks on here said that those batteries wouldn't last forever, and that I should get a backup. So I got a 510-N (bad mistake), the eGo's outlasted the 510-N. So I started looking for just what your question asks, what is the most reliable. At that time (2011) the consenses was that the Silver Bullet was the best choice. My SB is now a month short of being three years old, and still looks, and works, like new.
Having that SB, and not having to replace it every time I turned around, is what has made it possible for me to buy any PV that I wanted to try.

I learned early on that the most reliable topper was a simple atomizer. I still have atomizers that are over two years old that work just fine. But, times change, and new products become available. RDA's have taken the place of the simple atomizers, and I have an assortment of PV's that will last a lifetime. Simply put, there are an abundance of reliable ways to vape now, so take your choice.
Right now I have six PV's sitting on my desk, all six are set up differently, and I wouldn't hesitate to leave the house for the day with any one of them.
