The peanut butter works great!
Also- candle wax on the floor...paper bag and slightly warm iron. If the wax is colored you may have to work on the stain but the hard wax/oils will be absorbed by the paper bag.
MK- that's a Florida thing...soak, exfoliate, moisturize (there are pro creams, ill have to check the names I was nail tech forever) and sleep with cream and cotton socks..............but flipper floppers will undo your progress...:(

Darn I'm slow..plastic bags sounds like a good idea too...and or parrafin treatments.

MK I would say a heavy cream with as much shea butter in it as you can find. Rub on your feet at night and put cotton socks on.

Two problems, you live in FL, and I just can't imagine having socks on at night, it would drive me crazy.

2nd problem, you already have one nasty boo boo from a fall I don't think we need you to get another one.

If you try this please be careful when you get up in the morning.

You could also try a sugar scrub, or make your own. Get a good lotion, add a few drops of your favorite liquid soap. (I'm hoping that works as a emulsifier) and mix in regular sugar.

Rub that on in the shower, but again be careful please when you get out.

Nothing will really work overnight, it will take a few weeks. But, yes watch those feet if you are diabetic.

Who has a good tip for me..I have cracked heels and I have tried all the stuff at the drug store..ped eggs, sandpaper, pumice stones, overnight heel repair, vasaline, hospital moisterizer, bag balm and burts bees stuff. It's still tough and cracking.
Since I am a diabetic, I take foot problems to heart...HELP!

Lanolin works for me. I have a tube of Lansinoh, which is meant for breast-feeding mothers (not meant primarily for feet..). It's pure lanolin. It is very expensive (because it's so purified it's edible), but a teeny, teeny amount is all you need. If you can find regular topical lanolin or something that is almost all lanolin that should work too and be little cheaper. The reason I got it was because I remembered my mom having a tube of it that we used for cracked lips, hands, etc. The down side is that it's sticky and you would need to wear socks or washable flipflops when using it.

My feet get cold..so socks go on, in a few hours my feet are too hot! But Yeah I can live with the creams and lotions..in the day with socks! Not at night..socks drive me crazy at night! I only wear flip flops when the ground is wet..other then that NO SHOES! (prob didn't help.) I detest anything on my feet. I only do shoes because I have to when I an out.
Thank you ladies. I will try lanolin first.

LOL...I've been around..more looking for a new PV. Trying to make up my mind if I want a Vapage mod (VMod) or not. Checking the GLV3's out also but wish they were VV.

Got another one, to remove gum from hair, carpet or whatever, use peanut butter. The oil will loosen it so you can get it off.

Edit: tmcase reminded me of something I forgot about the peanut butter. Watch the oil. If you have an oil spot left, dilute a couple drops of Dawn dish soap with water then blot it out.

I have a GLV-2 and adore it and now use it as my main one.. The button is really big and it's the same type of button they use on ranks to fire ammo, so it will last eons... Service is wonderful, and you just cannot beat the lifetime warrantee... If you do buy one, just buy the brand of battery as on their site, for full maximum reliability, and really quick re-charge...

Here's a (really) cold weather tip.

I live in Winnipeg, Canada. It is due north of North Dakota, and it gets COLD here. Like 40 below 0 (both Centigrade and Fahrenheit is the same at 40-) every single winter. Also, I have worked with preschoolers for a LONG time. Which brings me to my tip.

The fast, easy, and best way to unstick a kid's tongue from a fence during a cold winter.

There are some kids who are natural 'fence-lickers'. I have one myself. The are the (usually boys) who have to try everything at least once before they believe an adult who tells them whatever is a bad idea. So every winter a few kids lick something metal during the winter - and their tongue freezes to it, and if you aren't fast they pull away leaving a very painful layer of tongue stuck to the fence or playground equipment.

What to do: Quickly use your thumb to hold their tongue onto the metal. If you are smart and have an insulated travel mug of tea or coffee with you, pour it slowly right onto their tongue and with your finger, gently work the tongue away from the metal. Otherwise send someone for a cup of hot water.

The usual advice is to use a blow dryer but a hairdryer works well, however only if you have one handy and you can plug it in, which almost never happens - so usually coffee is the answer.

Be sure to use the episode as a 'teachable' moment so the other aspiring fence-lickers may think twice before trying it. :p

I'm also diabetic, and have the super dry thick skin on my heels that sometimes cracks. My doctor said to use Eucerin cream on them twice a day. I bought the generic version. When I do it twice a day a few days in a row, I can tell a big difference. If I slack off, it comes right back. Mineral oil is the active ingredient. (Also, as a diabetic, be careful using stuff like ped eggs and pumice stones...be vewwwwy caweful. :))

I had a bunch of lotion that was my mom's..don't ask. Anyway I did a lanolin cream, vasaline, the overnight heel cream and oddly enough Eucerin (she loved that stuff) in rotation every night and every morning. When I remembered in the afternoon) I kept socks on as much as possible, not hard as it was raining cats and dogs so we didn't get out much. So my feet are much better, one is still a bit rough on the heel..but healing. I did try the vicks..but Mike kept asking how I was feeling??? Finally I figured it out, he smelled the vicks and assumed I was sick!!!!!
Thanks everyone.
