Greetings.

As I stated in some of my other posts, I ordered an eGo from HappyVaper (still waiting for arrival).

I used to smoke around 25 kingsize cigarettes/day... what liquid would you recommend to help my transition from analogs to vaping? (flavour + nicotine content)

I also read somewhere that one should be vaping more than he actually smoked cigarettes, which I really hope is not the case... should I use a higher nicotine dosage to prevent this? I'd actually like to vape at about every 2 hours for quite a few puffs, rather than vape a puff every 5 minutes... is that possible, or would my nicotine craving be to high?

Thanks.

It's really difficult to say. There is really no way at all to determine the correct nicotine strength for someone until they try it. Some light cig smokers need 36 to quit the cigs and some heavy duty smokers vape 12.

I got the same juice in 12 and 24. I figured I could lower the 24 if I needed to or raise the 12. 24 mg. was perfect for me to get me off cigs. I tried lower but I vaped myself silly and the flavoring made me queasy.

Most people vape more when they first start. First it's the novelty of it. Second, you absorb nicotine differently vaping than smoking. You don't get the nicotine 'hit' that you do with cigs. It's a little slower. Most people find the level that works for them.

Lots of people order juice that's 70pg/30vg for a smoother vape. I can and do vape 100% PG, but some of my juice (fruit mostly) has VG. VG gives more vapor, smoother taste. PG gives more TH.

Good luck!
Vape your head off at first if you want. It'll get you off the cigs if that's your goal. You'll taper off. I did, and didn't really even try to.

Good luck!

Hi,

I was a pack a day smoker for 25+ yrs. I switched to e-cigs in Jan. this year and haven't had an 'analog' since. For the last few yrs., I smoked American Spirit lights.

When I began the e-cigs, I tried 6, 12 & 18mg of nic. I've since settled on 12mg. I generally take a few vapes an hour but, I still think I'm doing it less than when I was smoking.

As for what flavor, it's really a personal preference thing. After trying a bunch of flavors...everything from lemonade, choc.mint, licorice, apple pie, Tea Berry, blueberry. I've settled more on the tobacco based flavors.

I only buy from Vaperite & Kick Bass Vapor. I'm sure there are others great vendors, but these are my 'go to' folks.

Fav flav's from Vaperite
Honey Tobacco
VR4
RY4
Kona Cream
Sweet Cinnamon

From KBV...
V-Spot (awesome Vanilla flavor)
Special K
Bogart

Good Luck on your search.

The most common strength used based on polls is 24mg. I like swedishfish's advice. I would get some 24mg and something lower of the same flavor. If the 24 seems too strong, you can cut it with some 12 to lower it.

Most need a higher level at first to stay away from smoking. Many started with 36mg strength and some still vape 36. I vape mostly 18mg now but vaped 24 for the first year. (and vaped 36 for the first couple of weeks)

Pack and a half for a decade and a half here, I vape more than I smoked...it just works out that way being able to sneak puffs at work, and vape in the house...but juice is cheap and I like it. I like 24mg, 75pg/25vg juice myself. Started at 16mg and I needed a bit more, 24 is working nicely for me, YMMV. I do recomend trying samplers from a couple different vendors, a wide range of tobbacco, menthol, fruit, candy, baked good flavors..I thought I would only be into menthol/tobbacco but this is not the case at all.

I was a PAD smoker.

When I started vaping, I couldn't find a tobacco flavor that I thought tasted like tobacco. I also started with 18mg which was Way to low for me.

Things didn't go well and I was climbing the walls.

I found the ECF and started reading threads where people said that they just loved this flavor or that flavor. Then it hit me. Why am I trying to vape something that tastes like tobacco anyway?

So I tried a Caramel Flavored e-Liquid at 24mg. It tatsed great but I still had cravings. So I tried some Black Cherry at 28mg and things went much better. A little rough for the first week but do-able.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that you don't have to only consider Tobacco flavors. And that it is better to started with a higher mg e-Liquid than it is to start with a lower.
