The above link show the AW IMR18650 cell,it has a very high discharge rate of 10C,how they are getting 6volts out of it?

The Provari uses a booster circuit. To get more voltage than a single battery is rated for the circuit converts current/amps to volts. That's why IMR/liMN which is capable of higher current output is recommended for single battery applications with a booster circuit.

Is this "safe"? I know modders are reluctant to call anything safe, but this seems suspect. I'm not any kind of battery or electronics expert, so maybe this is a stupid question :p. Also, how durable/reliable is this thing? I'm currently using a megolodon and I like the fact that there are no electronics to go kaput and ruin my day.

ProVape recommends using a high-discharge-current (IMR) battery and I agree with them.
That being said, I use Panasonic NCR18650As which are 3100mah and rated for 6amp discharge.
They have very high capacity and fit with the use of a small magnet spacer but without the use of the spacer ring.
Bear in mind that this is not the recommended setup and you will, likely, sacrifice your warranty if you go this route.

Thanks,
Lee
