I've ordered everything I need to DIY except flavoring. I was hoping to find a tobacco flavoring to start with but I haven't found any. I have to place an order now. I need some suggestions on a few Lorann's flavors so that I can place an order. For those of you that use Lorann's flavoring what would be good basic starters for me to purchase? My taste buds aren't really awakened so I don't want to buy much right now. I love licorice and as I looked through the threads I haven't seen anyone comment on licorice except red licorice and I don't like that anyway. Is licorice good?

Suggestions, please!

FlavourArt has tobacco flavorings. But, they are in Italy, so you need to use a supplier that is closer.
Try HappyVaper.com
Concentrated Tobacco flavourings from Flavour Art
Here's the page for Tobacco flavors.

Both FlavourArt annd Capella seem to be favored over Loran's for flavoring. Many think Loran's is chemically tasting.

The licorice from lorann isn't that strong. Go to Happy vapors and get some of the anise from flavorart - water soluble. Lorann's butterscotch is quite good. If you get flavorart tobacco get the mildest one first. I don't care for any of their (flavorart, lorann) coffees, cappuccinos, expressos - capela's coffee bean is just acceptable. Lorann's fruit flavors are good but strong. flavorart's red wine is good, imo. 'oak' is a nice additive to wine or tobacco.

Which of the FlavourArt tobacco flavors are the mild ones. I like a Marlboro taste in a cigarette so which tobacco would you recommend because they have quite a few listed.

Since I'm ordering from Canada, I might as well order more flavors. Thanks for the advice about the anise vs. the licorice from Lorann's. Do you need to add much? I have no idea how much flavoring I have to add of this strength of flavoring. I have TodMuller's ejuice calaculator. I don't know if I'm supposed to leave it at @ 20% flavoring for FlavourArt which is what it comes up set at. I know that different flavorings can be stronger or weaker than others. Same with Capella, I don't know what setting to use for them. Lorann's is stronger I've read so I would assume that would have to be lowered for theirs.

Would still love hear more suggestions on flavorings.

I love the licorice but i mix it with cherry. Tob flavoring can be bought at www.onestopdiyshop.com along with loranns, pg, vg, bottles, ect. I personally think these guys have the best prices for diy stuff.

Flavors I like from loranns are licorice, cherry, coffee, english toffee,. Do not buy chocalate it is terrible.

ahh! they're out of the 'cowboy' (marlboro) and the 'mellow' (smoothest) and then the next one would be the camel and they're out of that! With what's left I'd get the 'golden amber' and/or the 'virginia' but these are stronger than their other flavorings, so go easy, step by step and test along the way. The stronger tobaccos are the perique, dark vapour and latakia, imo.

Lorann's flavors are more concentrated in general and some are down right invasive - lemondade and english toffee. There really isn't any good instructions other than taking it easy and make small 'batches' no greater than 3ml. And take notes on amounts, ratios and flavors - 'lorann lemonade is VERY strong', flavorart black cherry is perfumey, fl.art's oak is a nice supplement, etc. I sample by tailpiping - mouth on open atty and dripping only a drop at a time and vaping until dry but no further of course. Gives you a good idea as you're going.

Make you nic juice and VG/PG blend to approximate nic level first - a bit above as you're going to be adding flavor of course and then add flavoring. I would normally add 5 drops to a 3ml base but that would be too much if the first thing you added was lemonade, or english toffee. It's trial and error - I might add 3 drops of tobacco flavoring to a 3ml base and go from there.

If you're thinking of tobacco bases with some flavoring 'notes' get 'peanut' for 555, vanilla for Kent, chocolate for hilton and camel, peach for a cigar/pipe blend (also vanilla), coconut/vanilla for a 'marlboro', cherry or almond for a flu cured+ 1/2 drop of wintergreen (stick the tip of a toothpick and don't let it soak in ;-) and some peanut - nice complex flu cure. Menthol, etc. Any mint, menthol, wintergreen is quite strong. Go light on cherry, banana. Grab capela vanillla custard if it's in.

"Fennel" will also get you a strong licorice flavor.
