I'm a newbie and still looking for the right e-cig. I hated the blu starter kit I bought-yes there was vapor-but that's about all-no throat hit, very little taste and the batteries preferred to be charged, rather than use-may have well just stood over a pot of boiling water and inhaled.

However I really liked the starter kit from 21st Century Smoking. The battery lasts a decent time, the flavor of the cartos is good, lots of vapor and decent throat hit. I have spent some time on this forum, trying to find a compatible refillable carto for it. I've seen some posts, but people didn't seem definitive. So does anyone know for sure, will a KR808D-1 carto fit? Or know what carto does fit? (2 piece recharchable model).

I wouldn't mind buying replacement cartos from the company, except that I really want to use e-juice that is made in the USA with USA sourced ingredients. So since I am beginning to think there are no compatible refillable cartridges, I need to look for a new e-cig that is designed to use refillable cartos. So I was thinking about Halo-as it seems to meet
my USA criteria (but so does blu and I hated it).

Based on my likes and dislikes above, do you think I will hate or love Halo? Also any other suggestions would be appreciated. Likewise, if people know of brands that seem similar to blu, please let me know so that I stay away from them. Thank you,

I'm about 99% sure they are kr808 cartos, in that case you can buy prefilled or blank kr808's. Also your cartos should be refillable, google how to refill them, YouTube will show you everything. I don't know much about the halos, but if your looking for that cig look alike I would recommend volt or v2cigs, both of these battery's use a kr808 threading, if you are looking for something with a bit longer battery life you can look at the kgo/ego models these models use a different threading so the kr808's will not fit, unless you get an adapter.

:2c:In my opinion all the little e-cigs are like the blu, in that people are choosing "form" over "function".
Small batteries, endless poor reviews, high prices. Then after spending all that cash people move
on to something else, bigger and better, once they realize it's more important to have something
that works well for them rather than something that sorta looks like a cig.

When starting out I wanted something with the form of a cig. too, but after reading so many
negative reviews about so many e-cigs I came across a mod. called Provari (US company).
I was hard pressed to find any negative comments about it.

It costs a little more upfront than others but is very, very well made and they offer an optional
2yr. warranty. The size(form) factor held me back 'cause the things looked huge.
It is a little bigger than some but is as big 'round as a quarter and shorter than a pen,
certainly not like sucking on a tail pipe at all.

It'll prolly be the first and last PV I'll ever need to buy....money well spent.
With the long battery life and some XXL, or mega cartomizers I can vape all
day long, at whatever voltage I like, receiving the utmost in satisfaction.

If you want to continue fiddling with little starter kits that may or may not satisfy,
choosing form over function and expecting them to perform at a high level,
in the end be prepared to spend some serious coin on your search.:2c:

You may find the set-up that does it for you, or you may, in the end, end up going
with a larger mod type PV anyhow. (Lavatube, Provari, etc.)

Yes I am a Provari fanboy, and yes I have no experience with other e-cigs.
Yes the Provari costs more, but in the end will not only save money but many
headaches too.

Sorry if this post seems like a flame, but you may like the mods. better than
the little e-cig versions that you've mentioned.

After the Provari I know no other e-cig will meet my needs, so I don't even
contemplate getting one.

In the end though find what works for you and stick to it, I did.
Hope you find what you're looking for.

Cheers Hitmetwice:vapor::vapor:

2 great quality kr808 e cig companies are Vapor4life & Smokeless Image. Also Vapor4life has a very nice USA line called Nobacco USA. The flavors are very popular for this newest line.

I WANT to say that 21st century ecigs are kr808, but.....I don't know for sure....

Both Vapor4life & Smokeless Image have subforums here on ECF that you can check out. Also you may want to go to v4l.com and sign up for their newsletter because they have sales often and signing up you will be informed.

I also vote for the KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit. I am recommending them to anyone I know that is interested in starting to vape, or quiting smoking.

The kit itself is great in fit and finish. The batteries last forever (well you know what I mean ;))

Also like stated get some cartomizers to try. I personally like my BOGE 510 low resistance. Just about anything 510, or ego will fit the KGO.

I myself started with an overpriced POS, then I went to an ego-c (double the price of the kgo). I hated the ego style tanks and immediately jumped on the carto bandwagon. If I could get all my cash that I basically wasted back, I would have gone KGO/Boge from the start, and spent the other money trying juices. Cant beat $44 for a starter kit. Plenty of room left to get the cartos, and maybe some juice on that first order.

Anyone that I have personally (locally) recommended this kit to loves it. And im a little jealous that I dont have one yet... LOL!!

Just a quick edit here:

As mentioned already, be sure to search out pbusardo on youtube. Anything that I have found, and tryed myself, is SPOT ON with what he reviews and tells you about. (for a laugh check out his crab juice, and italian savory flavors reviews. HAHA!!!)

I'm gonna start sounding like a broken record here, but I highly recommend Sweet-Vapes.com

KGO | Sweet-Vapes E-Liquid

or

Riva SE | Sweet-Vapes E-Liquid

Go for the dual coil cartomizer kits. This will be the easiest way to blow your socks off compared to what you have now

The reason I suggest sweet-vapes is they have good hardware, good prices, shipping was quick and their juice is straight out of heaven. I wish I had found them first before spending hundreds with other sites.

Moonstone, Since you are okay with bigger, but are hesitant of mods. Go for this: KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

It will give you incredible throat hit (like a mod) but you can put it in your front pocket. Great price, loooooong battery life. Great refillable cartos.

Add a couple of these: XXXL clear dual coil From Smok Tech 1.5ohm with round rubber tip

And, get some Boge cartomizers, as well.

It appears Hoosier is out of stock on the KGO kit at the moment, but they should be available here: SLB KGO Starter Kit (I've never tried one but they've been getting outstanding reviews around here.)
Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Get a Mod... Like a Provape1 or a Provari... Then use 510 attys......... Next get some good VG e-liquid... I use Innovapors Ultrapure 100%VG 36mg nicotine
