I am so lost on this one... I currently have an eGo and a Kr808 - love them both... but now I am ready to graduate to something with more power and longer battery life...

So I am looking at getting a big chuck... everyone looks pretty happy with one of these-

Now this new Joker is out there...

and people seem to love the prodigy -

and this GG or GG slim...

One, I don't want a device that malfunctions... or blows up...
Two, I want the power... more important than looks...

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Geoff

Wow, that's like walking into an Auto Show and asking "Hey, what's the best car!"
All you can get here are opinions. So of course, I'll give you mine...

I've spent a small fortune on Mods. If you are looking for flexibility, durability and classy style, in my opinion, the GGTS is the best. I love the power delivery of the Chuck and the ability to personalize (I have two), but the switch is a major anoyance, and having taken it apart a few times, the electrical soldeting is below my standards. The USB P/T feature of the Bartleby is great, but again, the feel of the switch is poor and doesn't give a solid off/on connection. My 5V box mod is great for delivering warm high volume vapor, but is bulky and has the same switch feel as the Bartleby. The GG slim is great for stealth vaping, but only uses 3.7V, and the battery life on the small batts is terrible. The GG Super Slim gives you 7.4V, but has the same life problems, and at 7.4 V, you blow out any low cost atomizer fast. The GGTS lets you choose from a bunch of different battery combinations, uses four different atomizers (including you current cartomizers) out of the box, and has no electronic parts, so the reliability is far superior to everything else I've tried. I'm a hard user, and the GGTS is the first device I've owned that lets me walk out of the house with only it (and juice) in my pocket. I can set it up with an 18650 battery, an i3 atty and a drip tip, and I can vape all day long without messing with battery changes, cart refills, or fiddling with the switch. When I'm near my supplies, I can use several different batt combinations and play with carts or cartomizers at will. Because it is made out of high grade aluminum, it's surprisingly light for its size (much lighter than the chuck), and the switch locks, so you can just carry it in your pocket without disconnecting the atomizer, as you have to with the chuck. It has great conductivity so you get a lot of power delivered to the atty, even at 3.7V.
The down sides are: The metal finish picks up fingerprints and dulls quickly, so you have to shine it up if you are concerned about the look (it looks fine with a dull finish, but it becomes a fashion accessory if you shine it up). The locking button assembly has a tendency to become unscrewed and need readjusted it you tighten it too hard (I've learned the "knack" and don't have this problem anymore). It costs twice as much as the others (or More), but in my opinion, if you are looking for a one shot mod to meet you long terms needs, this is it.
That said, I also have "IT" from e-cigmods on order (it will be my first juice box style), and I'm a gadget guy, so I'll probably keep on ordering new ones as they come out.
Hope this info is at least a little bit helpful.

It has been my experience that the week point in almost all Mods is the button. They all seem to give out in a few months. The only exception is the Screw Driver MK1. The difference between the MK1 and the MK2 is the battery. MK2 are costly and hard to find. The MK1 are cheep and easily found. The Chuck and Mr Puffer are also fine Mods with great back up but they have the button problems. You get 4 to 6 hours out of a charge with the MK1 and this month they have a half price sale. Just my 2 cents!

The GGTS has a "four way" connection. It directly connects to a 501 (with internal threads) and an 801 (external threads on the same connector), and comes with an adapter to the 901 / 808-D. All of this is included in the price. It has a center pin that is self adjusting, so it can make contact with the various atomizer center connections without any changes required. All in all, its a pretty slick setup.

There's also an Auto Feed System (A tank that mounts over the atty to hold liquid) which I have, but haven't played with yet (it's not obvious how to use it effectively), and an upgrade available to a magnetic switch which eliminates the button spring (the only "wearing" part in the device, except for the o-rings which keep juice out of the battery compartment)

FYI, I do use the i3 atty, which is made by the same guy as the GG products. The reason is that I have used it for several weeks and it's still going strong. As I said, I'm pretty hard on my gear, so finding one that lasts for more than a few days the way I abuse them is a bonus for me. He makes them tailored for 3, 6, and 7 volt vaping. I've never has a problem using a different model atty, including 510s, but I tend to flood them and then blow them out trying to cook off the excess liquid. Just stupid user error. The i Atties have a hole in them slightly above the bridge which keeps me from overfilling, and lets the excess liquid drip out the side. I think the hole is there for the AFS (an inlet for the liquid feed), but it works for me.

I do like the chuck a lot... I was about to pull the trigger on one... but then I saw the GG and SB and Joker and I suddenly got confused...

Money isn't really the problem...
I just want something really good...

I like my eGo fine... but I would like more power... longer batt life...
Something fun and durable...

Not really sure what I am giving up if I go for the chuck...

Have you tried the low-resistance atomizers yet? I use one on my eGo and like it a lot. I've been vaping since last June and this is my favorite combo so far. Battery life is pretty good and it's no trouble to carry a spare since they're small and self-contained.

I have a Prodigy V1 and still use it quite a bit, but the eGo puts out nearly as much vapor and is much handier on the go. Now I mostly use the Prod at home.

If you're set on getting a mod, you could do worse than the Chuck. With an 18650 battery and a low-res 510 atty you should produce massive vapor and have a battery life of at least 24 hrs of use.
