I have a e-cig that's very similar to this one in the picture thread

eGo.gif

I want to know if it's a 510/901 or a 306 or what.

I think I might be interested in buying a "dip tip" but I don't know where to begin.

I didn't want to link to the website because I didn't want to be accussed of advertising for them

But I got it from a smoke shop and the here is the product page from the company that makes it: MaxxVapor Elite Starter Kit in Black

I did get it for cheaper than the price listed there :p.

The main thing that's been surprising me about it is how quickly I'm going through e-liquid, the website and sales people made it sound like the eliquid last so long because a little bit of it goes a long way. Well unless I'm doing something extremely wrong, I'm burning through. I've used half 10mL bottle in 3 days. And maybe I had the wrong idea but I thought it was suppose to last a lot longer than that.

What I've been doing is putting 4 or so drops right on the atomizer and then topping off the cart until it just barely pools on the top. And that last me for about half of a good vap session and I have to refill.

So if this a "510" I can buy 510 compatible accessories from anywhere and not be tied down to that one company that sold me the actual e-cig.

5ML in 3 days is actually not a lot, I can vape that on a regular weekday and sometimes I'll vape through 10ML on a Sunday :)

It's definitely a 510 thread, AFAIK there aren't any eGo derivatives with different threading (someone correct me if I'm wrong). So yes you can shop at any store that sells 510 accessories which is pretty much every supplier on the net.

HI and WELCOME!

E-liquid consumption will vary. I can tell you that you use about 1/2 of what I do. Very generally speaking, consuming approx. 3 ml daily is not uncommon.

Yes if an atomizer or cartomizer says it is for 510, the threads will match.

I have heard gurgles a few times, I will hold back on so many drips. Do you think I need to clean it or should it be ok if it's only gurgled a few times.

I really like dripping so much more than putting the eliquid on the wick and smoking it that way, I can tell a difference I think. I was thinking if I got a drip tip then that would be easier to drip into and they should pretty much last indefinitely unlike a cart.

I need to research the difference between atomizers and cartomizers, would a drip tip be a cartomizer? I know I ask a lot of what seem like easy questions but I have to admit the learning curve is a little steep for me. But I am having fun and I really want to try some candy-like flavors. I want sour apple, mint, watermelon, and so many other flavors. I'm very excited.

I also think switching flavors would be easiest with a dip tip, I could put a few drops of X flavor, until it is done and then drop in another flavor. At least that's how I imagine it in my mind. I'll probably wind up breaking one of my atomizers before I get everything figured out.

Thanks for all your help, I've been analog free since I got this thing.

It's possible it's a ego or riva knockoff and the riva does come in a 901 but it's very unlikely for a re-brander. Getting some spare 510 cartos or attys would be a good idea. Regarding 5mL in 3 days....... on a stressful day, 5mL is easily doable for me.

check out the registered forum suppliers listed on the front page, they have been vetted by some of the most experienced and demanding vapers around... ECF :)

You are not doing bad.... I vape, near as I can tell about 3ml on weekday and 5ish on the weekend days.... those guys all lie... "two drops is equal to a pack of cigs!!" .... My ...! if thats the case I smoke like three CARTONS a day or something( prob more }:)> )..... dont trip (just drip!) youre actually on the lighter side of things

Figure if you are vaping 18mg liquid.... thats 18mg per ml....5ml in three days.....

Yea dripping is definatelly the way to sample flavors..... try boge 2.0 cartomizers for the flavors you like..... cartos and drip tips are different.... a carto is like an atomizer and a cartridge all rolled up into one..... holds hella more juice than your carts do too, and its hella easier than dripping a coupla drops every coupla minutes.... nothing wrong with driping, but when you are doing other things the convenience of a carto really shines.

Dripping is the best way to test out flavors.

If you have an ego, and it sort of looks like it is, it's a very versatile pv.

You can use an atomizer and drip juice directly onto your atomizer.
You can use a cartridge (holds some batting) put juice on that, attach to your atomizer and place on your battery
You can use cartomizers- a cartomizer is the cart & atty in one. Holds about a ml of juice.
You can get a tank atty and little tanks that hold juice.

The drip tips are great if you want to drip, or if you use cartomizers. It's just an easier way to top off your cartomizer with juice instead of prying off the end piece.

510 drip tips are fairly inexpensive and you can pick them up from almost any vendor. LitecigUSA, LibertyFlight, Mad Vapes, Good Prophets, all carry drip tips.

Good luck!

I don't really see the big difference between atomizers and cartomizers. To me it looks like an atomizer/cart break apart in the middle and a cartomizer has a little rubber tip on the very end that pops off.

Do cartomizers have wicks in them the way carts do? If I bought a refillable cartomizer, would it last for a week or a year or what?

Also so far they all say "not recommended for use with the eGo, and I don't really understand why. Mine says it's a 3.7v and the description says that it's made for a 3.7v batter. Are they just trying to lock me into their brand or will my e-cig explode if I start mixing and matching parts.

Despite what I read it seems like I can't get a good feel for this stuff without just making a ton of purchases and trying them out. But I don't really want to do that.

Wow remind me to never shop there.

1. They don't make anything. Those ecigs are made in China like almost every other ecig. They just stick they own name on it and double the price.

2. No way to tell what it is from what you showed. They don't say. You didn't show anything identifiable. There are at least 2 popular threadings that have models in that Ego-like shape. 510 threading and 901/KR808D-1 threading.

Is your battery male threads or recessed female threads?

Here is the answer - the atomizers for it are male and they call it a Riva (those come as both 510 and 901 threaded). 901 has female atomizers. So it is probably some kind of Riva 510

Don't spend any more money there. They charge double for atomizers too. Give your business to Liberty-Flights.com (press the 20% off on front page first). i got my Riva 510 kit there for under $30 for 2 complete 750mah Riva 510's.

I personally use cartomizers. I think they're easy and they hold a lot of juice (about 1 ml) and you can just top them off. I find the atty/cart messy and don't care for dripping. Cartomizers are disposable although they can be used many times. Depending on your juice and how much you vape maybe a week or two. They cost around $7.00 for a box of 5 at Joogler. A week- around 1.50 each. I think it's fairly reasonable.

Boge 2.0 cartomizers are great. You can also use the dual coil cartos on the ego. They hold more juice but they are more expensive and you're battery will have to be charged more often.

Ok researching this has been a little frustrating, and I thank you all for all your wonderful help!

I think I'm going to get a drip tip and I think I'll be happy with that. It looks like exactly what I want and it's cheap and last forever. If I get into dripping I'll just have to worry about buying liquids and taking care of my atty until I need to eventually replace it.

Thanks a million for showing me that if I ever need to buy another atomizer I can get it from another website for a lot cheaper. All in all I'm very pleased with the battery life of this thing though. Like I've said I've used 5mLs of eliquid and it's only been on one charge. I don't know if that's good, bad, or average but it's definitely been convenient though.

It was kind of aggravating the first time I used it, had to charge it for 8 hours, use it for twenty minutes, and then charge for another hour.
