What puts the 'fizz' in fizzy cola?

Hello DIYers,

I was wondering if anyone had any idea as to what exactly it is that creates a slightly 'carbonated' sensation in some of the cola/mountain dew soda flavored eliquids out there from some vendors.

Some I've tried seem bubbly while others taste flat'

Is it a different flavoring component? Is it an additive?

Which vendors DIY colas/sodas have that carbonated 'taste'?

Is there a club soda DIY flavoring out there?

Is it all in my head?

Please help!

If its the first, I can't blame you, considering the source.

If it's the third, here's a possible start. I found out that Zotz fizzy candy gets its fizzy effect from a combination of malic/tartaric acids mixed in with sodium bicarbonate. I also found out that most acids, with the exception of acetic cannot be vaporized at usual PV temperatures. I don't know if I'm on the right track here, but its a start.

The acid/baking soda reaction is a great start but keeping them separated until you vape would be the challenge.

I saw something somewhere that a couple drops of menthol gives the root beer e-juices a more crisp cleaner taste I'm not sure what it would do to cola but it might be worth experimenting with. Let us know what you find out.

I've read on other posts that adding champagne Fla or from TFA will add fizziness. I haven't tried it myself so I'm only relaying what others say works for them. Good luck!

I just looked at my mountain dew flavoring from TPA. It has Vitamin E listed as an ingredient. I wonder if that has something to do with that "tingly"ness?
