Just ordered my first box mod its unregulated and I don't know the resistance on it and I'm ready to build my RDA
Put away the mod when you get it and don't use it until you learn some battery safety and have knowledge about how the resistance of you coil effects battery drain.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Taylor moosman. Glad to have you here!:)
  • Is your box mod wired in parallel or series?
  • Have you purchased an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries?
  • What type of batteries do you have (brand, mAh, amps)?
  • What brand battery charger do you have?
There are many thing you must learn before you use a unregulated mod. Battery safety, ohm's law, amp draw and how they work together to vape safely are key.

Agree. I've decided I'm not going to use unregulated devices unless and until there is no alternative because I don't like the risks involved.

:thumb: This!

Asking the question "what resistance should I use", suggests that you are "new" and haven't yet done your "homework" prior to using a mechanical mod, otherwise you'd already know the answer to the question. Please don't take offense to our stern answers, but we're actually looking out for your safety and well-being, and glad that you have come here to ask questions.

A mechanical mod, because of its very simplistic "battery holder" function, carries far more risks than an eGo battery setup or regulated mod...if you don't know what you are doing. A mech mod has no processor or protection circuitry against short circuits which can occur through user ignorance or carelessness. Short circuits can lead to shorting out a battery, and with a battery going into thermal runaway you run a dangerous risk of injuring your hand, face, home, and others around you. A poorly ventilated mechanical mod can become a pipe bomb.

Do yourself and others a huge favor and educate yourself on mechanical mod and battery safety, Ohm's Law, etc. We can offer resources to find the information, but its up to you to learn from them. If not willing to learn the information, you have no business using the device.

Is this your first Elerctronic Cigarette?? If NO start that the same OHM and wattage you currently use. If this is your first. I suggest you start at approx 2ohm, NO lower than 1.5ohm.
